Filming on Bad Boys for Life, the third installment in the action comedy Bad Boys franchise, is officially underway.
Will Smith, who plays one-half of the buddy cop duo opposite Martin Lawerence, took to social media yesterday to announce that filming on the threequel will begin today. It has been a long road to get to this point and Smith celebrated by saying it's
"about to get KRAZY!" he also revealed that he and Lawerence prepared for today's start of filming by re-watching both
Bad Boys and
Bad Boys 2 over the weekend.
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will reprise their roles as Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett. Belgian filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilal Fallah are on board to direct the film, taking over for Michael Bay, who helmed the first two films in the franchise.
Bad Boys and
Bad Boys 2 combined to gross over $400 million at the worldwide box office.
Bad Boys for Life is slated to hit theaters January 17, 2020.
