Could We See Chris & Liam Hemsworth Star In THE RAID Remake?

For better or worse, the remake is definitely happening anyway as Expendables 3 helmer Patrick Hughes has signed on to direct -- but the rumor mill has Thor and his little bro on the studio's radar to play the lead roles. Read on for more..

The Wrap report that Patrick Hughes will direct the remake of The Raid for Screen Gems, with production set to kick off this Fall. Brad Inglesby (Out of the Furnace) wrote the flick, which has XYZ Films and original director Gareth Huw Evans on board as producers. Although casting hasn't officially begun, word is "the Hemsworth brothers have been mentioned as possible targets for the hard-hitting action movie." As fans of the excellent original will know, the story focuses on a pair of very skilled brothers who find themselves on opposite sides of the law, so it would certainly be a couple of juicy roles for the Hemsworth boys. That aside, what do you guys think of the fact that we're getting this remake at all? Sound off below.

This absolutely should not be getting a remake. The first one is just so awesome and those fight scenes cannot be topped. basically they are going to attempt to make a watered down version. However, I am so pumped for the 2nd one. March 28th needs to get here sooner!!

The Raid, what a terrible movie. The remake would surely blow it out the water by miles to come. I mean who seriously likes to read SUBTITLES! By gosh it`s so annoying. I want to focus on the story not read subtitles constantly! Then all the silly non sensible action, am sure Hollywood can put more sense into this movie. I don`t know what that director is thinking with making the Raid and the Raid 2. Remake is gonna be 100x better haters gonna hate.

Seriously 3 years after the first one came out can't you wait until the movie is say 10 years old. Also we already got the American version of the Raid it was called Dredd, in actuality Raid is the Indonesian version of Dredd since the Dredd script was leaked back in 2010 and was in production much much longer then Raid and Raid just got out first.

Didn't this movie just come out a few years back? What is wrong with people watching foreign films? I could see a movie inspired by that film but a remake why? Look I hope this just a rumor because it's not needed at all. Plus I highly doubt it will be as violent as the original too. So I vote for a pass on this remake.
