Dwayne Johnson's upcoming blockbuster Skyscraper has drawn comparisons to 1988's action flick Die Hard, starring Bruce Willis. Probably because they are both old school action movies starring masculine heroes facing off against international bad guys and set primarily in a tall building.

With Skyscraper opening in theaters on July 13, Universal has released a new and presumably final trailer for the movie. The new trailer features Dwayne Johnson pulling off an insane stunt atop the building while a crowd of onlookers watches from 240 stories below. It's just one of the many gravity-defying stunts we can expect to see in the upcoming movie.

Global icon Dwayne Johnson leads the cast of Legendary’s Skyscraper as former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Ford, who now assesses security for skyscrapers. On assignment in China he finds the tallest, safest building in the world suddenly ablaze, and he’s been framed for it. A wanted man on the run, Will must find those responsible, clear his name and somehow rescue his family who is trapped inside the building...above the fire line.

In addition to the new trailer, Dwayne Johnson took to social media to share new posters for Skyscraper inspired by the classic movies Die Hard (which turns 30 on July 15) and Towering Inferno (released in 1974). Check them both out below.

Whether or not Skyscraper can live up to these classics that inspire it remains to be seen, but we'll find out soon enough. The Dwayne Johnson-led action blockbuster opens July 13.

@MUTO123 - can't believe they underused Jeff Goldblum, you can never have enough Goldblum.

@CurlyBill - Underusage of Goldblum finds a way.

And the only reason I'm not as mad as other people are about it is because I figured that would be his role looking at the trailers.

I think I'm gonna pass on this one. Aside from superhero stuff and a few surprises, 2018 has been pretty meh.

I like that "The Rock vs something big" has become a thing. an earthquake, a building, giant monsters. what is he gonna fight next? I'm calling it now, either a volcano or a hurricane.

Don't give him ideas. There's that Twister (1996) and The Core (2003) out there ....

The trailer tells the entire movie. It even shows the plot points for his prosthetic leg. Make studios need to learn to draw the line in how much they reveal in the trailers.

Like some other pure solo Dwayne Johnson movies so far this manages to make something theoretically cool look completely unappealing to me. That's 'huge earthquake', 'giant monsters', and 'Die Hard/Towering Inferno hybrid'.

Like, it's him climbing around on a huge ass building, and somehow it doesn't even remotely trigger my fear of heights. Just the teases of the Burj Khalifa scene in the Ghost Protocol trailers had me sweating. I don't know what it is.
