The New Yorker recently published an article featuring playwright-screenwriter Jez Butterworth. In it, there is a mention of Butterworth polishing the script for the next James Bond film.
"On returning to London, he would start on a rewrite of the forthcoming James Bond movie." - Emma Brockes/New Yorker
John Logan wrote the first
Bond 24 script and then in June of this year fellow
Skyfall screenwriters,
Neal Purvis and
Robert Wade, were brought in to polish it up. Now the script is in the hands of Butterworth, who was part of team (Christopher McQuarrie & John-Henry Butterworth) that wrote the screenplay for Tom Cruise's
Edge of Tomorrow. Butterworth also polished the
Skyfall script, but he did not receive a writing credit.
BOND 24 will be directed by Sam Mendes ("Skyfall"), from a screenplay written by John Logan. The cast will include: Daniel Craig as James Bond (007), Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny, and Ben Whishaw as Q. The film will be released in the UK and US on October 23, 2015 and November 6, 2015, respectively.
