EXPENDABLES 2 Will be Rated R

Stallone had previously defended rumors that the movie will be rated pg-13 because of Chuck Norris's reservations about hardcore vulgarity, but now Stallone confirms that the movie will indeed be rated R.

The Expendables 2 will carry an R rating, according to Sylvester Stallone.

Having previously confirmed rumors that the movie would be rated PG-13, the actor has now announced that it will carry the same higher rating as the first film.

Speaking to The Stallone Zone, Stallone said: "After taking in all the odd rumors and hearsay, EXPENDABLES II is an R."

It had previously been reported that the sequel's vulgarity would be toned down, following the addition of Chuck Norris to the cast.

In a translated version of an interview with Polish newspaper Gazeta, Norris said: "In Expendables 2, there was a lot of vulgar dialogue in the screenplay. For this reason, many young people wouldn't be able to watch this. But I don't play in movies like this.

"Due to that I said I won't be a part of that if the hardcore language is not erased. Producers accepted my conditions and the movie will be classified in the category of PG-13."

At the time, Stallone defended the PG-13 rating, saying: "The PG-13 rumor is true, but before your readers pass judgement, trust me when I say this film is LARGE in every way and delivers on every level."

The Expendables 2 will arrive in cinemas on August 17, 2012, with Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis and Jason Statham all reprising their roles alongside the newly cast Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme.

I don't care if Norris has become quasi religious. What Norris wants Norris gets...and that's the way it should be!

So, if Chuck Norris doesn't want gay people getting married, then gay people shouldn't get married? Your statement, " What Norris wants Norris gets...and that's the way it should be!", offends me sir, not because I myself am a homosexual, but because a close friend of my sister is a gay man. As many people should know, Norris is against any form of gay marriage being allowed.

I just saw the first one this past Friday at a friends house... Complete trash. Wasn't even over the top bad so its good, just regular bad. The worst part (apart from the bad dialogue) was the TERRIBLE cgi blood and gore. I've seen better SFX on YoutTube (Not even joking)

i love that Chuck is in this movie. but if i was in charge of this movie and Chuck came with the demands to tone it down for kids. i would have shown Chuck the door and called it a day.

The problem I have with this is that AAAAAAALL of these rumors are sourced from one single, rather shitty-looking fan site, that doesn't offer any kind of reliable proof that Stallone ACTUALLY said this. No interview, no other source, nothing. Just a single sentence.

It's the #@$!-ing 'Expendables', for christ's sake - it SHOULD be hardcore and uncompromising! Norris can SUCK IT if he doesn't like the 'R' rating (yeah, I said it - who wants some?!)! Let him disappear into 'Walker - Texas Ranger'-land for all I care, the man's hype is really starting to annoy the @#$! out of me!

Now all Stallone has to do is learn how to PROPERLY film a martial arts fight scene (that last one between Jet Li and Dolph Ludgren BLEW!)...

I Congratulate Stallone for being able to get so many cool actors together for one movie...

You don't see much of that in Hollywood these days...

He Respects the past greatness of all these actors...

Loved the first one and will check this one out to...
