Casting Aaron Paul was their only shot at making this a legitimate movie, and not a repeat of the last Die Hard.

More like Die Easy. McClain is too arrogant, now. What made him interesting was the whole average guy in a fracked up situation, does desperate things to survive and save the day. Now, he's no different from the Last Action Hero.

Seriously? His son is a CIA agent? Yeesh.

I had a pitch for a Die Hard movie that would take it back to its roots. Basically McClane is retired from the NYPD and we find him interviewing for a Head Of Security job at some R&D facility. It just so happens that on that very day, a terrorist group attempts to break into the facility to steal a chemical weapon or something. The whole facility is locked down and John is stuck inside with no choice but to take on the terrorists.

Simple, confined to one area, Die Hard.

That's a pretty good premise, Vadakin; get it out there, son!
I'd go and see it. :)

Oh and rated R because John McClane likes to say certain words that the MPAA doesn't like.
