According to The Hollywood Reporter, Image Comics' successful series Chew is getting another shot at being developed for a screen take. The John Layman-created storyline was previously adapted as a pilot for Showtime, but never moved forward. Jeff Krelitz and his Quality Transmedia banner picked up the rights afterwards. The producer was behind adapting Image's Peter Panzerfaust into a motion comic, which led to BBC Worldwide picking it up for a television translation. For Chew, he is producing a direct to digital and home video animated movie (which is in pre-production) while developing a live action TV series, for which he is currently meeting with showrunners. The Chew comic book "centers on a detective who is a cibopath, a person who gets psychic impressions from whatever he eats, and is set in a world where bird meats are illegal after a bird flu killed millions of Americans." Are you looking forward to the television series and/or animated film?
