Michael Bay Set To Helm Big Screen Adaptation Of GHOST RECON For Ubisoft And Warner Bros.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Ubisoft were planning on also bringing Ghost Recon to the big screen alongside Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell. Well, Warner Bros. and the video game studio have now chosen Transformers director Michael bay to develop the franchise for them, with an eye to direct the movie as well. The hunt is now on for a writer and while Bay will oversee its development through his Platinum Dunes Productions banner, he WILL direct if he likes the script handed in to the studio. They start putting the cast together next month. Bay is currently hard at work on Transformers 4, but Jean Julien Baronnet, CEO of Ubisoft Motion Pictures, said they chose him because "because he is a master at action movies" As for the plot, he added: "These guys don’t belong to any specific organization. They’re in the field where the U.S. troops are not supposed to be. It’s a small team with very strong personalities and very specific skill sets. They’re using weapons nobody knows about but it’s very grounded. It’s not sci-fi." More than 24 million Ghost Recon games have sold since its debut in 2001.

I enjoy his movies. He's by no means Steven Spielberg, Alfred Hitchcock nor Chris Nolan. But, he can make an exciting movie with a good story. I cried four times watching Pearl Harbor.

Bay definately has compromising pics of some of the U.S Military's top brass in compromising situations. They bend riiiiight over for him and spread wiiiiide open to all requests for over-the-top patriotic stuff.

It kinda makes sense that Michael Bay would make a movie based on a military game. He has experience working with the military.

Jesus no why this??? Hell let me be honest here, Michael Bay is perfect for a Call Of Duty movie.

everywhere one of the "ghost" walks there's gonna be a big ass explosion behind him and Megan fox's tites flying in the air while a bunch of guys are getting ripped up by led. Now that's a bay movie

This is perfect for Bay. He's not going to stop directing movies, so he should at least do movies where explosions are required.

Michael Bay loves the military, this is like the Transformers movies but more like Pearl Harbor cause its more of a perfect fit. I'm sure Ubisoft knows what they're doing. So, when you gonna get a director for Assassin's Creed you ass munchers!

I love the Ghost Recon series but I hate Michael Bay. :(

Actually, this fits. I always thought Bay should have been on GI JOE instead of Transformers. The military scenes rule in his transformer movies. I think this is right up his alley. This is disappointing though, cause I was hoping for Bad Boys III to be his next project.

The only problem is that I think he will not flesh out his characters through a good plot, which is important no matter what the movie genre is (unless ur doing ful horror or something)

Instead of Bay they should chose Ang Lee. He would put a real art form into it. I would hate to see a movie about a war video game to be ruined with explosions. In fact I dont think any movie should have explosions. I think they should all be like The Artist. Movies did just fine did all this fancy technology like digital filming, 3D. Dont get me started on COLOR!!!! No place for it in my moving pictures. DOWN WITH ADVANCEMENTS!!!!!!!
