MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - FALLOUT Cruising To Franchise-Best $60M Opening; Earns An Impressive "A" CinemaScore

Chris McQuarrie's critically-acclaimed Mission: Impossible - Fallout is exceeding expectations at the box office and is now projected to hit $60M domestic, which would make it the franchise's best debut.

After taking in over $23 million on Friday, Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible - Fallout is now officially on course to becoming the franchise's biggest opener ever in the United States with a debut that's projected to fall between $59 million and $61.2 million by the end of business tomorrow, which will top the launches of both Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation ($55.5M) and Mission: Impossible II ($57.8M).

The Chris McQuarrie-helmed blockbuster is also exceeding expectations internationally, collecting over $38.3 million on Friday and is now racing toward a monstrous $80 million plus debut from 36 foreign markets (not including China). It's now projected for an exceptional $140 million plus worldwide launch, which would be another franchise record, topping the $131.5 million global opening for Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol in 2011. 

Fallout has received widespread critical acclaim and, in addition to its unbelievable 98% Certified Fresh rating on review aggregator RottenTomatoes, its also received an "A" CinemaScore," which is another franchise-best.

As for the rest of the weekend box office, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again ($15M) will finish second with $15 million, followed by The Equalizer 2 in third with $13.65 million, and Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation will finish fourth with $12.4 million. This weekend's big superhero movie, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies, will open in fifth with about $11 million, which is a pretty solid start, considering it only cost around $10 million to make.

The best intentions often come back to haunt you. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - FALLOUT finds Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team (Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames) along with some familiar allies (Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Monaghan) in a race against time after a mission gone wrong. Saw the film today and my god is this an absolutely incredible film. That bathroom sequence was perfection.

The mission was IMPOSSOBLE AS HELL, but they pulled it off haha.

My favortie film this year!

The helicopter sequence and the Paris chase are SUBLIME! Best sequences in the film by far.

Usually in a MI film, I think, "I wonder how they'll pull it off." In this one, however, I sat there during the helicopter scene thinking, "There is no way they're gonna pull this off." I was on the edge of my seat.

Saw it today, and god damn it was bad ass. From beginning to end it was spectacular. Tom Cruise is better than ever. Henry Cavill is a beast, I need to see him in more action movies outside the DCEU. Rebecca Ferguson steals the movie for me again. Loved her role. I want her to join the MCU. The Bathroom scene was awesome, The Helicopter scene leading to the end was bad ass. This is the Best out of the series. James Bond needs to take notes.

Very well deserved, the tension troughout the whole movie is nervebreaking which fits the whole crazy sequences they pull off and go trough, is completely worth to watch on a BIG ASS screen.

Ethan Hunt's journey has been a real crazy roallercoster, is great to see he's found a bit of peace, at least the bit he needed for so long.

I honestly didn’t realize how much of a ride that was until the end when I realized I had been clenching my fists for the last 30 minutes of the film to the point they were just sweating. I LOVED it

I've yet to watch any Mission Impossiboe film but I'm glad this movie is getting good word of mouth. Really enjoyed the trailers for it and Tom cruise still being one of the few people to do his own stunts is incredible.
