MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 5 Taps Will Staples To Write; Drops IRON MAN 3 Writer
The fifth installment in the Tom Cruise-led Mission: Impossible franchise has found its writer in Will Staples (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3). Come check it out!
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that 2015's Mission: Impossible 5 has found its screenwriter in Will Staples. Staples is best known for his work on video games such as 2011's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and 2013's Need for Speed: Rivals. Lately, he has been making the transition to film and is currently attached to several films in development including Warner Bros.' Blood & Treasure, which has the new Batman, Ben Affleck attached to star and direct, King of Heists with Jeremy Renner attached to star, and a Fox film titled Myth with Sam Worthington attached. Staples replaces Iron Man 3 writer Drew Pearce, who was initially attached to the film when it was announced.
Christopher McQuarrie is set to direct with superstar Tom Cruise set to return. Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg are also likely to reprise their roles from the previous film(s). It has also been rumored that Jessica Chastain may be joining the cast as well.
Mission: Impossible 5 is expected to hit theaters December 25, 2015.
