SMALL PRINT Trailer Special: FIRST MAN, SERENITY, LONDON FIELDS, HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 3 & More
This was a big week for trailers, and while we did cover the CBM-related ones already, we thought you guys might want to check out teasers for some of the other intriguing new releases heading our way...
As you may have noticed, we got first looks at a lot of upcoming movies this week via a plethora of trailers, and we've gathered a few more together for this special edition of Small Print.
We've already brought you the likes of Halloween, Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse and Bumblebee, but what about some cool looking teasers that don't quite fly under the CBM banner but still may be of interest?
Below, you'll find trailers several films that are set to hit theatres at some point either this year of in 2019. Some look better than others (to be honest, some don't look very good at all), but all are worth a watch - even of it's just so you know what to avoid!

London Fields
Let's start with a red band trailer for Mathew Cullen's adaptation of the novel London Fields starring Aquaman's Amber Heard as a clairvoyant femme fatale named Nicci Six (no, not the Motley Crue bassist).
This one had a very troubled journey to the screen, with the director actually suing the producers for allegedly "inserting unapproved footage into his edit." Then, Heard was sued by the producers for supposedly not finishing the film.
Despite all that, the movie looks... well, there's a very good cast!
Serenity
Another femme fatale here, this time in the form of The Dark Knight Rises' Anne Hathaway. She joins her Interstellar costar Matthew McConaughey in Stephen Knight's tense-looking neo-noir thriller, Serenity.
McConaughey plays a fisherman who's sorely tempted to murder his ex-wife's abusive new husband and "feed him to the sharks."
The cast also includes Diane Lane, Jason Clarke, Djimon Hounsou, and Jeremy Strong.
The Old Man And The Gun
Now this one looks like it could be something really special indeed.
A Ghost Story director David Lowrey's The Old Man and the Gun tells the (mostly) true story of Forrest Tucker, a career criminal and prison escape artist played by the legendary Robert Redford. He hooks up with Sissy Spacek's character, and attempts to stay one step ahead of the law (Casey Affleck).
The film also stars Danny Glover, Tika Sumpter and Tom Waits.
Bad Times At The El Royale
Before Cabin in the Woods director Drew Goddard tackes X-Force, he'll bring us some Bad Times at the El Royale.
This is another multi-character noir-type thriller where nobody is who they appear to be, and will more than likely all wind up attempting to kill each other. Still, well-worn genre tropes aside, there's a hell of a cast.
El Royale stars Chris Hemsworth, Jeff Bridges, Cynthia Erivo, Dakota Johnson, Cailee Spaeny, Lewis Pullman, and Jon Hamm.
How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World
We'll lighten the tone a little with a first look at the third (and supposedly final) How To Train Your Dragon movie.
This one sees Toothless discovering a female of his specifies and doing everything he can to impress her while Hiccup concentrates on maintaining his viking/dragin utopia. Of course, there's always a dragin-hating nutjob out there to screw things up, and this time he's voiced by Amadeus star F. Murray Abraham.
Consider us very intrigued by Hiccup's beard!
First Man
Ryan Gosling re-teams with LaLa Land director Damien Chazelle for First Man - but don't expect any singing and dancing here.
Gosling plays Neil Armstrong, the first man to set foot on the moon, while our new Lisbeth Salader Claire Foy costars as his wife, Janet.
The movie is based on the book by James R. Hansen, and it certainly looks like riveting stuff - even of we do know the ending!
A Star Is Born
Rocket Raccoon himself Bradley Cooper makes his directorial debut with yet another remake of 1937 musical drama, A Star is Born.
Cooper also stars as Country Music star Jackson Maine, who discovers an unknown but talented singer named Ally (Lady Gaga). As her career quickly takes off, Jackson starts to realize that his best days may be behind him.
Yeah... this one is gonna be nominated for all the awards.
Siberia
And finally we have a new Keanu Reeves flick, Siberia.
Matthew Ross' chilly (sorry) action thriller focuses on an American diamond merchant (Reeves), who travels to Russia to sell rare blue diamonds of questionable origin. As the deal begins to collapse he falls into an obsessive relationship with a Russian cafe owner (Ana Ularu) in a small Siberian town.
This one looks... fine? Reeves kicking ass is always good value, but we'll need to see a bit more from it before making our minds up.
