Steven S. DeKnight served as showrunner on the first season of Daredevil, but later departed the series before the second batch of episodes arrived on Netflix. Often credited for the best and worst parts of the show, DeKnight has frequently expressed interest in returning to the Man Without Fear's world.

After Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently confirmed that Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock is officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, DeKnight took to Twitter to share his reaction.

As you can see below, the filmmaker is clearly pleased for Cox and remains open to perhaps working on another Daredevil project, whether it be a continuation of the series or something new. On that point, DeKnight would later add that he has no idea whether the show is actually considered "canon" now. We're guessing not, though there might be a few vague references to certain plot points.

That will disappoint some fans, but it's inevitable in many ways; after all, why would Marvel Studios want to be beholden to some of the less than stellar creative and casting decisions made by Marvel Television (just look at how poorly The Hand was used). We'll see, but for now, rumours continue to swirl about Cox returning as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home next week!
