"I know what you're thinkin', punk: "Question is, can I get Wolverine before he turns me into shishkabob with those claws?" Well, bub, seein' as how these claws are adamantium, the strongest metal known, and can slice through vanadium steel like a hot knife through butter, buddy, you gotta ask yourself: 'Do I feel lucky?'"

The band is officially getting back together, as voice actor Cal Dodd has confirmed that he's finally back in the booth, ready to reprise his iconic role as Wolverine for Marvel Studios' upcoming animated series X-Men '97.

With an expected 2023 premiere date, it'll probably be a while before we get a look at the new series, but we do know that the vast majority of the original cast will return for the revival. Production only just got underway early last month, with fellow original series cast member Lenore Zann (Rogue) also confirming that she had started working on the project.

In addition to Dodd and Zann, the show will feature George Buza (Beast), Catherine Disher (Jean Grey), Chris Potter (Gambit), Alison Sealy-Smith (Storm), Adrian Hough (Nightcrawler), and Christopher Britton (Mister Sinister); while Alyson Court will voice a new character. They'll all be joined by Jennifer Hale, Anniwaa Buachie, Ray Chase, Matthew Waterson, JP Karliak, Holly Chou, Jeff Bennett, and A.J. Locascio

@thebagman - Fun fact, the old Konami arcade game was actually supposed to tie into the show. They should have kept the costumes the same for both properties, I always thought they were different due to that and Dazzler's presence instead of Jubilee.

@BlackBeltJones - I was hoping the apocalypse actor would be back too, but they got back a lot of key talent nonetheless.

Ooh might watch this. He is THE Wolverine voice. I’m not one that trips over Hugh’s height, loved em as Logan, but I don’t hear em. It’s like when somebody dies and you forget their voice. I could never forget my dad’s voice, I’m not seeing the wolverine cartoon character is my dad LOL

Is he?

Look I’m all for this but of the 90’s animated superhero shows of my childhood X-men probably aged the worst. I tried going back when Disney Plus launched and it was rough (although that theme is still an absolute slap). Now Spider-man: The Animated Series however, I just finished and that shit largely holds up and given its cliffhanger ending I’d MUCH rather we got a revival of that!

I just hope the Revival doesn't turn out to be a piece of egg sulking gutter-trash! Dodd's Wolverine is my favorite.

TAS started my journey down the Marvel rabbit hole, Batman was my favorite until the premiere of Night of the Sentinels.. and the journey began. Also Spider-Man tas is still the best, season 1 is almost perfect, but by the time you get to season 3 it's a different beast except not in a good way. And then by the time they switched animation studios because they couldn't afford it (Marvel was steps away from bankruptcy), it's almost a chore to get through. Keep it like season one and this will rule the world!

this (along with Batman the Animated Series) started my love for superheroes, Im intrigued to see what the continuation does with it....but this theme continues to be a must!

Its just amazing

Im just wondering are they gonna adapt all the major mutant storylines that have been written since the late 90s

I’ll check this out. Why not. Couldn’t wait to rewatch the Marvel animated shows when Disney+ dropped. Turned on X-men without hesitation and I was honestly shocked to see that it aged like milk. I’ve spoiled myself with rewatching the DCAU over and over again through the years that I expected it to still hold up like those. Hopefully this new series will be something that can recapture my memories from the 90’s the way my rewatch couldnt

I have no faith in this. Will most likely be filled with propaganda.
