this was already posted a week or two ago. not this exact article, but it was already said that Under the Red Hood would be the next DC animated feature and it will be the return of jason todd. whether that is accurate or not, we'll have to see. but i believe the comic story "Under the Red Hood", is about jason todd.

Someone took the liberty of deleting this yesterday after I posted it. Which is a no no, but whatever, it's back because it is cool news

Yeah, they announced a few weeks back that Under the Red Hood would be the next feature...but I definitely think it's going to be the Jason Todd story. Even in the comics they have never given a definitive origin of the Joker, so I doubt they would in an animated feature. In fact, one of the things I like the most about the Joker is that we STILL don't even know his real name, as well as an official origin! Not many other major characters have been able to keep that under wraps for this long, even Wolverine has lost it.

CDB your right, it was posted but with one line that says Bluray.com is reporting... and thats it. No blu ray specs not much else. This is a confirmation of that same info as the specs were released. Galactus decides what stays and what goes. Divo, yes I do work out!

Anyone else think that the President at the end of the trailer sort of looks like Nick Fury? Whats that about DC? Anyways, this looks good.

As for Batman: Under the Red Hood, I'd like to think it's about the Joker rather than Jason Todd. Todd's...a somewhat interesting character as the only failed Robin, but marketing wise, it doesn't seem like the best choice for DC. No one outside of comics knows Jason Todd and DC and WB want to make money, so they choose their best stories and adapt them to animated films to get new, young audiences, while still catering to close fans. An origin tale about the Joker, on the otherhand, would make perfect sense marketing-wise after the Dark Knight. But, who knows? I certainly could be wrong. Either way it should be quality.

And @Bamf7: And while it's true that no definitive origin has been given on the Joker in regular continuity, I do like Alan Moore's one-shot take in The Killing Joke. We never get his real name but we see how he becomes the Joker. His past, his motivation to turn to a life of crime, his time as the Red Hood. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. Awesome stuff.

"is DC ever going 2 put out an animated movie of sum1 outside the JL???"

Well, they're doing the DC Showcase shorts. We don't really know what characters they'll be using besides Jonah Hex and Spectre, but they probably won't be JL characters.

"Anyone else think that the President at the end of the trailer sort of looks like Nick Fury?"

Kinda looks like Deathstroke. The patch is on the wrong side, though.

Wow, some good special features. We all can keep guessing and guessing, but the truth is - it's a Joker origin (damn near bet money on it). Just bring in Luke Skywalker and we're good to go!

As for Jason Todd, that'd be dumb to co-star him with Batman in a movie without Dick even getting his 15 minutes of fame yet! (Unless you count New Frontier, but that was WAY short lived.)

Update on TheMYTH from his friend Chris AKA Humbled:

“Apparently they have found a slow working balance between the 2 and now all 3 major tumors are about 20% smaller than they were when he came in…. On top of that, he was able to have a few hours of real consciousness yesterday morning. He spent it with his new son who he'd not met until then. I sat in the corner of the room the whole time just watching the most resilient person to ever face their own mortality. Even though any who could see him could tell he was in considerable pain, his humor and wit were still intact. Doctors say if no more complications come along, he might be able to be home about Christmas time and continue his treatment through outpatient. Apparently this type of cancer is typically treated this way…. When this first started a little over a month ago he had less than 2% survival chance, now it's a 1-in-4. I'm sure Myth would have something to say about the power of the collective consciousness of humanity after reading this article and being able to see just how many people are rooting for him.”

He includes a poem from theMyth’s own writings.

He also mentions The Myth’s stories and fan fics and Myth’s family:

” I told Amanda (MYTH’s wife) about this article and she viewed it. She said she was at a loss for words and couldn't see to type a comment. She said that this was something phenomenal and it would leave even 'Myth' at a loss for words. I'm sure she'll be back soon to give thanks. “

Keep posting guys for MYTH and his family, they need all the strength and encouragement and well wishes and love they can get now. The MYTH is still alive and fighting, so cheer the man on!

How could you think it was the joker when it takes its name from a jason todd story: Batman: Under the Hood. I mean, I guess it could be a ruse to try and trick us into thinking that it won't be the joker but I doubt it.
BryEL
BryEL - 12/15/2009, 4:57 PM
@ thwhtGuardian - Well, if it IS Jason, why would they do a movie about Jason coming back for revenge if most people (not us) don't even know who he is? Lol, my gf swears that there are only 3 Robins (Dick, Drake, Damien). Guess I gotta get her A Death in the Family.

thwhtGuardian - 12/15/2009, 5:00 PM
I think that's the point, to introduce him to the masses. Batman Under the Red Hood just sounds to similar to Batman: Under the Hood for it to be anything else. Like I said, it could be a ruse to get our hopes up, only time will tell.

@ thwhtguardian

people just refuse to believe what is clearly right in front of their faces. even when they get told over and over again.

@ bryel

i guarantee this will have the red hood show up, and there will be flashbacks to jason todd as robin being murdered by the joker. they will explain who the hell he is. otherwise the big reveal that he's jason todd would have no meaning. Jason Todd's story will be told through flashbacks.

@ everyone

would you make an animated movie titled "Batman: Knightfall", but then make it have absolutely NOTHING to do with the comic story with the same title?? of course you wouldn't, that would be ludicrous. while we're at it, lets go ahead and make a "Death of Superman" movie, but not have Superman die in it...lol...seriously

come on, it isn't rocket surgery, and if i'm wrong, then i guess i'll start eating my shoe.
thwhtGuardian
thwhtGuardian - 12/15/2009, 6:08 PM
I'm with you on that cdb, I shall also eat your shoe(I like my own to much to damage it)if it isn't jason todd.

I remember reading somewhere that Bruce Timm wanted to do it on Batman TAS, he even started to lay the roots for it in the dcau batman comic series, but both the comics and the show ended before it could be done.

Where the hell is a Flash movie? I mean they cant even give us an animated movie.........Am i the only who cares for the Scarlett Speedster?

You're probably not the only one petey.

Personally I wouldn't be to pumped for a flash movie, cartoon or other wise. He's just not my cup of tea. The only time I've ever enjoyed him as a character was in Darwyn Cooke's New Frontier.
