Back in October, Marvel unveiled their Astonishing X-Men Motion Comic in a truly innovative way. Autograph sessions, interviews, giveaways and even a costume contest were part of the event that took over Union Square in New York City. The spectacle ended with an advanced screening of the Motion Comic itself on some of the largest projection screens available.

Marvel is at it again. The focus this time being the highly anticipated animated feature Planet Hulk. On Thursday, January 14, The Paley Center for Media plays host in both New York and Los Angeles to the exclusive first screenings of the film, along with panels featuring comic and animation talent, as well as limited edition giveaways and creator signings.

Here are the details directly from Marvel:

'Co-sponsored by New York Comic Con and Newsarama.com in association with Marvel Animation and Lionsgate Home Entertainment, the screenings will begin at 6:30 PM local time in New York City and Los Angeles respectively with panel discussions and signings following immediately after at 8:30 PM.

World Wrestling Entertainment's Matt Striker, color commentator of Friday Night Smackdown, will moderate a panel featuring Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada, Hulk editor Mark Paniccia, President of Marvel Animation Eric Rollman, and INCREDIBLE HULK writer Greg Pak, the architect behind the original "Planet Hulk" comic book storyline.

In Los Angeles, Blair Butler, host of the Fresh Ink segment on G4's "Attack of the Show" as well as the writer and producer of the "Slasher School" animated shorts, will welcome Emmy Award-nominated and Eisner Award-winning HULK writer Jeph Loeb, "Planet Hulk" screenwriter Greg Johnson, Supervising Director Frank Paur, Supervising Producer Josh Fine and the voice of the Hulk himself, Rick D. Wasserman, to discuss the film and comics.'

MPP - I think Marvel is really kicking it up a notch with these events! Fan interaction is a key component in a solid marketing strategy, and Marvel has definitely become the forerunner in that aspect. I hope DC Entertainment is taking notes.

"I just think SW is dated and unnecassary."

Right. ;-) Because Marvel would never put out an event book that's just issue after issue of pointless fighting these days...

There's no way, NO WAY this can live up to the comic. the comic is just too long. having said that, this is one of my favorite stories of all time and it's length and what's cut out will not stop me from enjoying this movie. it should be badass!
it'd be nice to see them copy the book exactly but thatd be like 2 hours long!

i hope they eventually make a Planet Hulk movie. at the end of one of the avengers movies they could send him away. then make PH movie, then the next avengers movie would be WORLD WAR HULK! ... that'd be my movie dream come true
