BOX OFFICE: INCREDIBLES 2 Is Now Fandango's #1 Animated Pre-Seller Of All Time

Disney has been on a roll with superhero properties as of late. Following Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther, it is no surprise that Incredibles 2 has become Fandango's top animated pre-seller ever.

Incredibles 2 is sweeping into theaters tonight, and with that comes the news that The Incredibles sequel has become Fandango's top animated pre-seller of all time. The Pixar sequel is overthrowing Finding Dory as both Pixar's and the medium’s most successful pre-selling endeavor to date.

Fandango's Twitter gladly announced the exciting news this morning, and in addition to displaying The Incredibles' increasing popularity as a property, it also proves that the superhero genre is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Projected to gross around $140 million to $150 million throughout the three day weekend, the sequel is projected to surpass Finding Dory's initial opening ($135 million) by a satisfying amount. In 2018, any animated film grossing over $100 million in its opening weekend is a juggernaut when it comes to its overall box office potential. Four-quadrant appeal is also the key to Pixar's forthcoming success, with The Incredibles sequel catering to both new fans, as well as the audiences who enjoyed the original film in 2004.

One thing is for sure, Disney is going to be very happy this weekend, with the distributor needing a win after the disappointing performance of Solo.

I had high expectations for this, and holy crap it was damn perfect. The humor was on point, the ideological themes were great, and the action was out of this world! Also the Pixar shirt film Bao plays before the movie. That dumpling is going to win an award!

Can anyone tell me if this film is as dark as the first one? I know it’s a kid film but the first didn’t shy away from dark and serious themes and plot points and I just can’t tell if this one will too
