In celebration of Mother's Day, Disney and Pixar have released a new TV spot for the upcoming animated film
Incredibles 2. Fittingly, the clip spotlights Helen, aka Elastigirl, as she juggles the role of mom and superhero - sometimes doing both at once.
The teaser below features new footage of Helen suited up as Elastigirl in the midst of a motorcycle chase when she gets a call from her son Dash, asking for her help in finding a pair of shoes. For all you moms out there, this scene is probably very relatable.
In the
Incredibles 2, Helen is called upon to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob attempts to maintain order at home with Violet, Dash, and baby Jack-Jack (who recently discovered his own set of super powers). Of course, as both parents will soon realize, these new family roles will prove much more difficult than imagined - especially when a new villain emerges, throwing everything into chaos.
Actress Holly Hunter, who voices Elastigirl, had this to say of her expanded superhero role in the film:
"She throws down the gauntlet in this one. It’s so much fun to see a woman luxuriating in those two arenas, because women have for so many generations been brought up to not be ambitious or to not be competitive, and it’s fun to see Helen basking in those two arenas in much the same way that we give men license to do.”
