Deadline reveals that Phil Lord and Chris Miller have signed a deal with Warner Bros. to write the highly anticipated sequel to The LEGO Movie. They wrote and directed the extremely successful first instalment, but their busy schedule had resulted in the chances of them doing any more than just producing the follow-up being pretty slim. This is obviously a step in the right direction for the movie which was dated May 26th, 2017 before a spin-off focusing on Batman (voiced by Will Arnett) was put on the fast track and given The LEGO Movie 2's director Chris McKay. As of right now, there's unfortunately no word on whether they will also direct at this point, but it appears as if the studio want them to. The first film grossed $468 million worldwide. @marvel72 it is not overrated, man. It targets mostly kids, obviously. But the best thing is that it has a "lot" of scenes that can make even an adult crack up.Crazy twist too. You should watch it. It is not overrated.

Seriously though, if there ever was a Spider-Man reboot or just a switch-out of Marc Webb as director, these two would be my favorite pick to direct it. They know how to write an intelligent script complete with humor and I could see them being very inventive with the action sequences and fight scenes in the film. They'd finally give us the quipy Spider-Man that Webb, Orci, and Kurtzman tried and miserably failed to give us the last two films, while not making him this complete cornball that can't even be taken seriously. Anyway though, glad to hear these 2 are still going to be involved with the sequel, it wouldn't live up to the first without them. Lego Batman will probably end up being pretty awesome too; we'll get to see all sorts of Batman characters that we'll probably never see in a live action Batman film.
