Phil Lord And Chris Miller CONFIRMED To Write THE LEGO MOVIE Sequel

Phil Lord and Chris Miller (22 Jump Street) wrote and directed The LGEO Movie, and with the sequel pushed back to 2018 to make room for the spin-off focusing on Batman, the duo have signed a deal to pen the follow-up. Will they also direct? Hit the jump for further details...

Deadline reveals that Phil Lord and Chris Miller have signed a deal with Warner Bros. to write the highly anticipated sequel to The LEGO Movie. They wrote and directed the extremely successful first instalment, but their busy schedule had resulted in the chances of them doing any more than just producing the follow-up being pretty slim. This is obviously a step in the right direction for the movie which was dated May 26th, 2017 before a spin-off focusing on Batman (voiced by Will Arnett) was put on the fast track and given The LEGO Movie 2's director Chris McKay. As of right now, there's unfortunately no word on whether they will also direct at this point, but it appears as if the studio want them to. The first film grossed $468 million worldwide.
