ANT-MAN: 'The Wasp' Mid-Credits Scene Officially Released

"It's about damn time." Marvel has officially released the mid-credits scene for Ant-Man which of course depicts Hank Pym introducing Hope Van Dyne to the Wasp suit he originally created for her mother. Can you spot any clues about what's to come for her in the MCU?

The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man.” Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Starring Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Judy Greer, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Pena, John Slattery, and Hayley Atwell, Ant-Man is set to be released digitally on November 17th and on DVD and Blu-ray on December 8th. Will you be picking up a copy? Sound off below.

dafuq @aXe, she was fine as Hope, the scene between her and Hank with the Original Wasp flashback was emotional as [frick], she wasn't robotic at all.

Yes, "fanboy" however in quite a lot of scenes she was pretty stale in her performance alright.

I love Lilly as Hope. Absolutely love her. I love her and Rudd. Her and Douglas. The chemistry across the board is great. I actually think the prospect of Wasp being a co-equal headliner is probably what tipped the scales in favor of a sequel.

That said, Marvel has a bad habit of repeating one of the troubling trends of comic history. "Introduce a Hero who is a White Straight Man. Then raise up one of their supporting characters to have basically the same powers, but also to add diversity."

Case in point. Irony aside, this is basically the same scene we got all the way back in Iron Man 1.

And what have we gotten from that promise? War Machine has been little more than the butt of every joke in every scene he's ever been in. (And personally, l love that, because it's actually pretty well done.) But it is still a little awkward, and I hope Marvel is aware of the signals they've been sending that minority and women characters have to wait their turn.

Captain Marvel is a big bold exception to this, and on its own may be enough to refute everything I just said. But I still wanted to say it, because even if it turns out to be a minor phase that the studio grows out of, it's still worth noting.

Well, one caveat. The "about damn time" does actually reflect some element of self-awareness.

Also, I really hated Hope's hair. Just a travesty. I hope they do something with that.

She wasn't bad as Hope. But in all honesty seemed like the kind of roll where she made it her own like douglas , Rudd and Stoll made theirs.

The IDEAL Hope Pym who i think would've had better chemistry with Rudd, and I could see as a future wasp, is ALison Brie

I was never too big a fan of Evangeline Lilly to begin with, and then the problematic Hobbit trilogy happened. I was really relieved when I watched Ant-Man and realized her being in there worked for me.

She showed that you do not have to be all over the board to portray a complex, conflicted character.

And I found her hairstyle to be incredibly sexy.

And this one, too!

I'm a total cheerleader for the MCU. And of course, those who are not, no big deal. The MCU is over NINE BILLION DOLLARS in the bank so far. Might actually break $20 Billion before it's all over. So...

@Spock0Clock

Ant-Man and Wasp don't have the same powers. Both can shrink, but Ant-Man can also become a giant, while Wasp can fly and shoot stinger blasts.

When I first heard that Hank Pym was going to be older then he was in the comics the first response I had was 'what happens to Wasp?' She was one of the original Avengers -and outside of Invisible Girl and Jean Grey -one of the early female Marvel heroes. Then when I read that Edgar Wright didn't have the Wasp in his script -that Hope was some femme fatale type and didn't have a big role -I got REALLY worried.

I am very relieved that Feige did a workaround with Edgar's concept and was able to pull Wasp BACK into the MCU with the help of Peyton Reed, Paul Rudd and Adam McKay. I have no problem with Evangeline as Wasp. I'm just glad that we have ALL the original Avengers, despite the revisions, in the MCU. I'm looking forward to seeing the sequel and a possible journey into the Quantum Realm.

@Ramiel Wasp can become a giant and has done that on a few occasions.

Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 11/15/2015, 8:39 AM
@Ramiel

Effectively the same powers, then. The stingers and wings are little add-ons like War Machine's minigun, but they are still shrinking (and potentially growing) heroes just like Iron Man and War Machine are basically both robot suit heroes.

Evangeline Lilly is not an attractive woman to me, and that hair style was horrid. I love the movie though.

So the fact that I don't like what you like, causes you to attempt to insult me and, somehow, make you believe that I can't like women. You are a brilliant person. Just to be clear I am being sarcastic about the brilliant bit.

...I can see how this Wasp differs from what has been told the character would appear on the Wright script, having so little on.screen time; somehow it seems a lil' shoe.horned, but it works; but yeah, she seems to be some badass & stiffy gal...Rudd has his ways to work with that...

@Kayo IKR! He's a f*cking MCU hater! You're not allowed to say you dislike something and then tell us the reason you dislike it.

I mean, if you don't like the MCU then keep that shit to yourself. Because having negative opinions about the MCU is pathetic and just means you're a troll.

That's right. Simply saying you dislike the MCU because you feel it's predictable and boring is forbidden. He's a true DEXTER for simply expressing his opinion. He's a f*cking troll and should go back to his cave amiright?
