Following that sneak preview of Kang's Time Chair in recent promo art, Empire has provided a hi-resolution look at Kang the Conquerer (Jonathan Majors) sitting on his Time Chair throne and he looks even more intimidating than you could imagine.

Speaking with Kevin Feige, the magazine learned more about why the Marvel Studios President felt Kang was the perfect choice for the Multiverse Saga's ultimate Big Bad. “He is the obvious choice as you’re dealing with the Multiverse. Kang allowed us to do a new kind of Big Bad. He’s a different type of villain, warring amongst themselves as much as he’s warring with our heroes."

As for his master plan, it's relatively simple. He wants to rule everything and everyone across all realities, across all multiverses, but unfortunately for him, he'll first have to defeat every other version of himself as well as Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

After coming in extremely clutch against Thanos (Josh Brolin), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) will be the first of the Avengers to encounter the all-powerful Conquerer in the Quantum Realm, but before they come to blows, the recent trailer revealed that he'll actually attempt to strike a deal with him, which we can likely expect to go awry.

Feige adds, “Kang’s a very powerful person, but when we meet him he’s in a position where he needs to get that power back. He has a ship and a device that would allow him to go anywhere, and anywhen he wants if he can get it online. If only he had access to genius scientists with Pym particles.

Kang actor Jonathan Majors teases how He Who Remains was only the beginning of his MCU journey and that Kang is a whole new beast entirely, with a singular goal that certainly suggests that war is on the horizon.

I met with the Loki team first. Then Peyton came on and we had our chat for the film. He gave me a few reference points – Alexander The Great, things like that... Kang adds tonal diversity, real conflict, and real friction. You’re being introduced to a new vibration in the MCU. There’s conflict – not just mano-a-mano, not just hero and villain, but ‘your way of life’ and ‘my way of life’. I’m coming for it. We’re in battle here.

The cast features Paul Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man), Evangeline Lilly (Hope van Dyne/Wasp), Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), Michelle Pfeiffer (Janet van Dyne), Kathryn Newton (Cassie Lang), Randall Park (Jimmy Woo), and Jonathan Majors (Kang the Conqueror).

Additionally, David Dastmalchian is now playing a character named Veb, while Katy O'Brian is Jentorra, William Jackson Harper is Quaz, and Bill Murray is Lord Krylar.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hits theaters on February 17.

Check out the new still below:

Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.

Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige, p.g.a. and Stephen Broussard, p.g.a., “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania” also stars Jonathan Majors as Kang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O'Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar. The sci-fi adventure opens in theaters on Feb. 17, 2023.

@KWilly - KWilly… I was trying to find the right words. You NAILED it. Now, since I am a marvel shill as Batmannews.com has confirmed (from Eh Maybe so probably not true), I’m definitely watching it in theaters. But the main thing is, the SpyKids-ness of it doesn’t make it look less good, so I’m not cautiously optimistic, I think it’s gonna be good.

I wonder how much of the suit is practical. It looks pretty good.

noahthegrand - 1/14/2023, 9:07 AM
@Fares - I know a costume designer who worked on this and apparently they did build an actual suit. I’m fact, they got the green the wrong shade the first time around and had to redo it because it was messing with green screen scenes
MosquitoFarmer
MosquitoFarmer - 1/14/2023, 9:23 AM
@Fares - The photo is certainly spruced up, but what he's wearing there is practical. There will definitely be CGI involved for the helmet, action scenes, long shots, etc., but he's got a darn fine real suit there.

comicfan100 - 1/14/2023, 10:34 AM
@noahthegrand - Oh, I can't imagine a green suit would be easy to work with in a movie that utilizes the green screen a majority of the time.

@Fares - everything except for blue hologram on his face what it looks like haven’t seen helmet yet who knows

Marvels costume designers are sooo good these days. Seriously looks perfect.

I know we've been saying for a long time that Sarah Finn is one of the MVPs for the MCUs success but the costume design like this is up there too.

His body language is much different from ‘he who remains’ which is always a good sign. I just hope these other variants makes you wonder if ‘he who remains’ is a “necessary evil” which brings the avengers into a different kind of conflict.

Either way I think Jonathan is going to crush it
