Corey Stoll Thinks ANT-MAN Could Beat The HULK; Says 'Yellowjacket' Is Not Really A Villain

Revealing every character in Ant-Man has "shades of grey," actor Corey Stoll has revealed why he's excited play Yellowjacket, and also why he thinks the size-shifting hero could beat the Incredible Hulk.

In a Clevver Movies video interview that was overlooked during the San Diego Comic-Con madness, actor Corey Stoll had revealed why he's excited to be playing Darren Cross, aka Yellowjacket, in Marvel's Ant-Man movie. Within that explanation, the actor also insists Ant-Man could defeat the likes of the Incredible Hulk. When asked which of Yellowjacket's powers is he most looking forward to playing with, Corey Stoll answered "shrinking" without any hesitation. "It's so weird...if somebody were to [ask] 'What [super]power would you want?' you wouldn't say, 'I'd like to be able to shrink down to the size of an ant.' That seems like being the opposite of a superhero, but when you actually think about all the things you could do if you were that small,  and you retained your fullsize strength, you would be sort of unbeatable. Like, I think the Ant-Man could beat the Hulk. He could shrink down and go up his nose, and you know, crush his brain. How is the Hulk gonna beat the Ant-Man? He'd be chasing him around."  Hopefully we'll see this showdown in Avengers 3. Maybe. Moving along, Corey Stoll was then asked what he loves about his Ant-Man character Darren Cross, to which he replied: "He is not a villain in the vein of Thanos or Loki, who are villains that know it. [Cross] is a guy who is not that dissimilar from Michael Douglas' character, Hank Pym. A brilliant scientist, who is not ethicnally pure. I think a great thing about the whole movie is that everybody in this movie is in those shades of gray a little bit. I think it will be a fun character to create." Anyhow, this interview was conducted before Ant-Man began filming, but principal photography is currently well underway in and around Atlanta, Georgia. Director Peyton Reed has been tweeting small updates.

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world. Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Corey Stoll, Evangeline Lilly, David Dastmalchian, Michael Pena, Bobby Cannavale, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, Wood Harris, John Slattery and Gregg Turkington with multi-hyphenate T.I., and the film will release July 17, 2015

sure if you could get up the hulks nose you could hurt him, but unless you're launched onto him, good luck climbing up the hulk before he notices you to get to his nose. Wasp would do better against him since she can actually fly.

@SUPERIOR

THE HULK'S BRAIN COULD NOT BE CRUSHED LIKE IN HIS EXAMPLE.

HE'D GET SUPER PISSED IF A LITTLE ANT-MAN WAS INSIDE HIS HEAD, ONLY MAKING HIM STRONGER AND EVEN MORE INVINCIBLE.

Hey guys, I been on this site for years and i love reading your comments. with that said i am a huge (no pun intend) hulk fan and what this guy said is just ridculous made me come out from hiding lol. let alone that everyone knows ant-man cant kill hulk, in the avenagers, Bruce Banner even went as far as said that he tried to commit suicide by shooting a gun in his mouth to where the hulk just spit it right out. so, if a bullet cannot damage hulk's brain, highly doubt a "mortal" that can shrink can to. just my two cents.

Come on guys where is your comic book knowledge at? That is similar to the way the hulk was downed by the avengers the first time and a couple of times after. Only it was the ear canal, and it [frick]ed with his balance. It's the one tried and true method of beating hulk quickly. It only works on dumb hulk though, it's proved useless against banner hulk.

The ear yes, but the nose would be bad for ant-man. One good farmer blow and he'd fly out the Hulk's nose at 100 mph. SPLAT!

That's exactly how Hank and Wasp have brought down the Hulk before

They crawl into his head and give him brain freezes, migraines, etc.

Of course, that is just a temporary measure to buy everyone else time and not something that's actually kill him

@ Gnoxorm

Well, it looks like other people (who actually know what they are talking about when it comes to comics) have already beaten me to it, but the Hulk has beaten like this before...

I want to see an official picture of Rudd suited up. It's not like it would do any harm releasing a picture like that.

I remember in the Ultimate Avengers animated movie Wasp flew into the Hulk Ear and started blasting his Brain. Then he slaped the side of his Head and the force knocked the hell out of her. lol

Nothing out of lokis mouth can be taken as Cannon without concrete evidence. Besides that run proved loki didn't play that trick because while that was happening loki was still playing Wanda in the subplot in the story. Also every thing that came from that experiment still proved useful after it was over. If it was just an enchantment the science wouldn't have worked afterwards.

@Crabnado - Impressive, but I think we should at least give good ol' Pym the title, I think he deserves it. I've always wondered though, who truly is the smartest around? and who's smarter Banner or Stark? I started leaning more towards Banner after the Indestructible Hulk run started.
