Peyton Reed Dishes On The Ants Of ANT-MAN; Two More Production Images Released
Care to know exactly which ants will Ant-Man communicate with his big-screen debut? Hit the jump and check out the latest from Peyton Reed, in addition to two new pics featuring the director and Paul Rudd.
Along with new images, plot info, and character details, the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly also had the director of Ant-Man, Peyton Reed, discuss the ants of the Marvel adaptation. Like in the comics, Scott Lang will be able to communicate with ants through his costume and helmet, and we'll even see them attack his antagonists at some point in the movie. Reed says that all the insects in the movie will be CGI, but real ones were used for reference. The specific ants that we'll see are fire ants, winged carpenter ants, and bullet ants. "It's impossible to get real ants to do anything you want them to do," said Reed. "Because none of us is Ant-Man! Their bite is one of most painful in the insect kingdom. The bullet ant would definitely rank as the most badass." What do you think?
Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world. Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Corey Stoll, Evangeline Lilly, David Dastmalchian, Michael Pena, Bobby Cannavale, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, Wood Harris John Slattery and Gregg Turkington with multi-hyphenate T.I., and the film opens July 17, 2015
