AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM TV Spot Features New Footage; Jason Momoa Reportedly A Lock For LOBO

Another teaser for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has found its way online, and while this one has also been recorded from the TV, it is slightly better quality than the last spot!

The promo features quite a bit of new footage, including more of what will likely be the King of Atlantis' climactic battle with the villainous Black Manta. We also get a glimpse of Arthur Curry holding his son, "Aquababy," but his mother is nowhere to be seen.

Aside from one brief glimpse in the recently-released trailer, Mera has not been absent from the sequel's marketing campaign, and the recent details brought to light from Amber Heard's court appearances (find out more here) may explain why.

Is it safe to assume Mera won't be making it out of The Lost Kingdom alive? Even if she survives, it won't make much difference, since this will be the final movie of the DCEU era before the entire franchise is rebooted with James Gunn and Peter Safran's DCU.

In related news, Jeff Sneider is claiming that Jason Momoa has been cast as Lobo, and is expecting an announcement to be made early next year. This comes after a previous report claimed that the Game of Thrones alum had officially entered talks to play the character. Momoa could debut as Da Main Man in Superman: Legacy, but that's yet to be confirmed.

"Having failed to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta, still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all. This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family, and the world, from irreversible destruction.

All returning to the roles they originated, Jason Momoa plays Arthur Curry/Aquaman, no, after w balancing his duties as both the King of Atlantis and a new father; Patrick Wilson is Orm, Aquaman’s half-brother and his nemesis, who must now step into a new role as his brother’s reluctant ally; Amber Heard is Mera, Atlantis’ Queen and mother of the heir to the throne; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is Black Manta, committed more than ever to avenge his father’s death by destroying Aquaman, his family and Atlantis; and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, a fierce leader and mother with the heart of a warrior. Also reprising their roles are Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus and Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin."

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to swim into theaters on December 20.
