The first trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will (finally) be released online tomorrow, and following a brief - though much-discussed - teaser earlier this week, we have some new promo stills from James Wan's DC Comics sequel.

These images give us a first look at Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) joining forces with his half-brother Orm, aka Ocean Master (Patrick Wilson). These two were bitter enemies in the first film, but will become reluctant allies to face-off against a common threat.

"They're forced to work together, but they have no interest in being together," says producer and DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran. "There is a humor in this movie that is far greater than even existed in the first."

We also have another glimpse of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's villainous Black Manta, who is now a lot more powerful thanks to a Black Trident, which gives him the ability to command an ancient evil.

Check out the new stills at the link below.

"Having failed to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta, still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all. This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family, and the world, from irreversible destruction.

All returning to the roles they originated, Jason Momoa plays Arthur Curry/Aquaman, now balancing his duties as both the King of Atlantis and a new father; Patrick Wilson is Orm, Aquaman’s half-brother and his nemesis, who must now step into a new role as his brother’s reluctant ally; Amber Heard is Mera, Atlantis’ Queen and mother of the heir to the throne; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is Black Manta, committed more than ever to avenge his father’s death by destroying Aquaman, his family and Atlantis; and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, a fierce leader and mother with the heart of a warrior. Also reprising their roles are Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus and Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin."

Hope we get some more comedic nuggets such as peeing on a relic to unlock it and an octopus playing the drums!

Malignant was pure schlock, corny af and so bad it's good.. idk about this one chief. I'm pretty sure they got lucky af with the first movie, mostly off the backs of the Snyder cult. It's how most of those movies stayed afloat. All of those Insidious movies and most of James Wan's spooky movies are simply jump scare fart boxes, the only one I genuinely liked was Dead Silence. GG

@bobevanz - Gotta agree there. Malignant was laughable. Couldn't believe what I was watching. The amount of conversations that got interrupted by explosions in the first Aquaman was funny, then disturbing. Like can this guy not think of another way to transition a scene?

@PC04 - I mean… Wan didn’t write the movie so we shouldn’t be knocking him story gripes.

@bobevanz - it makes no sense that BvS couldn’t reach $1 billion at the BO but Aquaman does. Not even the Snyder fans could’ve pushed Aquaman to that number.

I kinda digged anything Wan said here about the film itself. It was fun reading just how much has happened since cameras started rolling for this film. Three rounds of reshoots and filming for two years does indicate that stuff has been clearly altered to some extent, we'll see. It still feels like Wan knew what film he was making at least. I get that. I'm watching this, I can hope I get some enjoyment out of it like I did with Beetle. If anything, these sexy guys alone are worth the ticket price.

Patrick Wilson Was the only good thing about the first one and the only reason why I’ll eventually watch this one.

Aquaman was the worst thing to happen to DC.

The universe was dead and everybody knew it. They fired everyone who was ever in charge of DC. Tsujihara, Snyder, everybody. They put Walter Hamada in charge. They were talking about a full reboot. Starting again. The Batman would be a reboot. They wanted James Gunn's Suicide Squad to be a reboot. The Flash was going to be Flashpoint.

Then Aquaman came along. It made $1 Billion dollars.
And they thought "Well, shit, maybe we were wrong about the DCEU. Maybe it's not dead after all".

The next 7 movies flopped hard.
All because of Aquaman making $1 Billion dollars.

You know how much net profit Aquaman made?
$260.5 million.

Now lets add up the losses from the 7 DCEU flops that followed.
Birds of Prey fell $95 million short of breaking even.

I can't find the exact numbers for how much WW84 lost, but it only made $164 million and the budget alone was $200 million, so we're talking at least $200 million dollars lost.

Similarly there are no real numbers for The Suicide Squad, but it made a worldwide total of $168.7 million, against a production budget of $185 million. So again, we're looking at around $100-200 million in losses.

Black Adam needed $600 million to break even and made $393 million. That's over $200 million lost again.

Shazam 2 made $133.8 million against a production budget of $125 million. So that's probably another $100 million lost.

No one truly knows how much The Flash lost. It grossed $268.5 million. The number that gets floated around is that it lost $200 million. Shyeah, and Ezra is the second coming. But lets give them the benefit of the doubt.
In fact lets give all these movie the benefit of the doubt and put in the lowest estimate for losses. So:

$95M (BoP)
$150M (WW84)
$100M (TSS)
$200M (BA)
$80M (S:FotG)
$200 (The Flash)

On top of that Blue Beetle needs to earn around $250 million to break even and has so far earned only $114 million. So we're looking at another hunny-mil loss. But lets be generous and say 80.

$80M (BB).

Added up, the decision to keep the DCEU going after the success of Aquaman has lost DC around $905 million, low end.

Aquaman MADE a billion for DC? In truth, it pretty much lost them a billion.

I have very little confidence in this, the only good stuff I’m the last movie was the stuff they ripped from Throne of Atlantis and since this seems to be its own thing I have little faith in a story coming from Wan
