AQUAMAN 2 Actress Amber Heard Confirms That Warner Bros. "Didn't Want To Include" Her In The Movie

As the Amber Heard/Johnny Depp defamation trial continues, the former has revealed that Warner Bros. did not want her to appear in Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, and reduced Mera's role in the sequel.

Amber Heard has confirmed that Warner Bros. didn't want her to reprise the role of Mera for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and it sounds like she will now have a significantly reduced part in the movie.

A recent report indicated that the studio had concerns about bringing Heard back for the sequel because of what was seen as a "lack of chemistry" with leading man Jason Momoa. Whether that's true or not, the actress has now admitted that she had to fight "really hard to stay in the movie."

This came to light during the ongoing defamation trial between Heard and ex-husband Johnny Depp. When asked if she participated in shooting James Wan's sequel, Heard said, "They didn't want to include me in the film," before adding that she now has "A very pared down version of that role."

"I was given a script," she continued. "Then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it, that depicted my character and another character, without giving any spoilers away. Two characters fighting with one another. They basically took a bunch out of my role. They just removed a bunch."

Whatever happens with this trial, based on what Heard says here, it's probably safe to assume she won't be back as Mera for a third Aquaman movie or any other DC Comics-based project! In fact, we wouldn't be at all surprised if the Atlantean warrior was killed-off in the upcoming sequel.

After a delay pushed the film out of its original December 2022 release window, Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom is set to hit theaters on March 17, 2023.

“In fact, we wouldn't be at all surprised if the Atlantean warrior was killed-off in the upcoming sequel.”

This is twice now where I’ve seen this assumption made. Recast. As simple as that. Wouldn’t be the first time, most definitely wouldn’t be the last time either.

I cannot express in words how little I care about Johnny Depp and Amber Heard after this. Just two toxic idiots showing the world how gross they both are. They could replace Amber Heard with a chihuahua in a red wig in Aquaman 2, and I’d be fine with it. I’m done with both of them.

@santoanderson - No matter how you feel about either of them, at the end of the day, it's important that the court rules in favor of Johnny Depp. For too long she's ridden off the coattails of actual abuse victims and has used the #MeToo movement to publicly destroy a man's career and reputation via Twitter lynch mob and industry gossip. It's people like Amber Heard that contribute to the problem of women not always being taken seriously when making serious allegations like abuse and she deserves to have that humiliation through a public platform such as this.

@JesseCuster - the court definitely won’t rule a win for either of them this toxic crap between them is for die hard depp fans to destroy amber heard. I haven’t seen one shred of evidence that makes me feel like either of them are telling the truth.

@whynot - Really? Not a shred? Have you been watching the trial? I mean the evidence against Heard is absurd to say the least. You could possibly make the argument that Depp was indulging in alcoholism, I mean Depp himself has been pretty forthcoming about substance abuses, but since when was that alone an outward offense? It's incredibly clear that Heard was the instigator of a lot of altercations and while abuse trials tend to be plenty hear-say, there's enough circumstantial AND tangible evidence to prove that Heard was no victim of abuse and is a serial manipulator. It's not even a matter of celebrity v. celebrity, it's about setting a precedent in the court of law and opinion that women like Amber Heard shouldn't take advantage of the actual struggle of abuse victims.

@JesseCuster - There are people online that will not accept logic and they are especially rejecting it when it comes to Johnny Depp. Whether they believe Amber despite there being zero evidence of Johnny abusing her or they just think they were both going twelve rounds with each other. Essentially showing that their feeble minds have successfully been manipulated by the clear and obvious smear campaign that her lawyers are pushing for. They’ve got nothing so they’re trying to say substance abuse = domestic violence. And while many, even most are seeing that, that doesn’t add up, a select few ain’t so good at putting two and two together. No matter what you tell them, they’ll never accept what you’re saying because their minds just don’t work when it comes to thinking for themselves. You know and I know there was two kinds of abuse going on. Johnny abusing himself and Amber abusing Johnny. What this case has actually done has shown how much pain Johnny is in and how he walks away from conflict. We’ve also seen countless abuse victims all side with Johnny because they recognise all the same signs. Not that, that makes it anymore credible, but going against them is like going against sports coaches, people who are experienced and understand theses things better than someone who’s never experienced it. Amber’s tearing down of him has been successful in the fact Johnny’s films will never reach the same success. These people will refuse to watch his films all while listening to a Chris Brown song.

@santoanderson - What choice did Johnny have? He wasn't being toxic, if anything he had incredible restraint. If you listen to the tapes it was Amber constantly goading him on to attack her. Also Amber was dragging his career through the mud with wild accusations. Johnny had to put a stop to the insanity by suing the Post for defamation.

@santoanderson - I am with you. I dont get this blind loyality to Johnny Depp. I dont think Amber is a good person but Depp is coming across as a sociopath. That get up and walk towards her was such a bully control move. I dont like either of them.

@whynot - as someone who has seen every minute of the trial. There's more than enough evidence that goes against her lies. Sure he was a drinker and a party boy, but he wasn't abusive. That's like hating Keith Richards, stupidity is what you're being served
whynot

@JesseCuster - they both have audio and texts against the other. You got recordings of heard saying don’t put your cigarette out on me and depp instead of denying it like any normal person would just says shut up fat @$$ (abuse). They have both been toxic to eachother and are being defamed. Both of them will find it hard to work again bc cancel culture loves this drama. To say depp got fired and that ain’t right so let’s fire heard is hypocritical.

whynot - 5/17/2022, 8:12 AM
@bobevanz - I’ve always watched every min of this trial and can tell you depp likely was abusive aswell as heard. The fact that depp didn’t deny putting a cigarette out on heard was proof enough for me.

I so wanted a non BC Doctor Strange variant in the MoM film. Johnny Depp was also a fan fave casting in the past, he'd be really awesome as that character in so many ways, such an excellent character actor.

Who could replace her though? Emilia Clarke is in the MCU and recent events make it more than likely that Deborah ann Woll will be reuniting with Charlie Cox in due time.
