Yesterday, the
Aquaman fan site the Aquaman Shrine posted a
rumor that Dolph Lundgren's Nereus and Amber Heard's Mera would be father-and-daughter instead of the would-be lovers they're depicted as in Geoff Johns New 52 Aquaman run.
Speaking to the
Las-Vega Review-Journal, Lundgren confirmed the change, along with a few additional plot details.
"
It is good to be king. Basically, I try to keep the peace down there along with Amber Heard, who plays my daughter. She’s trying to convince me to join the right side. Then you have Nicole Kidman as Aquaman’s mother. We’re trying to avoid war between the surface dwellers and the people of Atlantis."
What exactly is the right side and who's on the opposing team? Is Patrick Wilson's Ocean Master marshaling Atlantis' forces for an invasion of the surface or is it King Nereus that's planning military action? Let us know what you think about this intriguing reveal below.
Arthur Curry learns that he is the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, and must step forward to lead his people and to be a hero to the world.
