FAST & FURIOUS 7 And THE CONJURING Director James Wan Lined Up For DC Comics Movie
James Wan has just signed up to helm The Conjuring 2 and now studio President Toby Emmerich has revealed that the filmmaker is being lined up for one of the DC Comics adaptations.
Though it's not confirmed, it appears as if James Wan is being lined up to helm one of the upcoming DC Comics movies for Warner Bros., and it sounds as if it might just be Shazam! That's an assumption on our part, but his relationship with New Line and the fact that he's worked with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (a.k.a. Black Adam) on Fast & Furious 7 could be another hint. Deadline broke the news in their piece about Wan coming back to helm The Conjuring 2, and quote New Line President and CCO Toby Emmerich as saying, "New Line has always been a big believer in great filmmakers emerging from the horror genre, and he has the potential to grow like Frank Darabont did, from writing A Nightmare On Elm Street 3 to writing and directing The Shawshank Redemption. James will make an important movie for New Line and Warner Bros or DC, and that is definitely part of the plan, and a reason for bringing him into the family. He’s the only overall director with a deal here, because we see him as a class of one." Wan seems like a great fit for a comic book movie, and Warner Bros. are smart to scoop him up before Marvel or anyone else. What woud you like to see him direct?
