Chris Evans On Starting AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON; Scarlett Johansson Says Heroes Are 'Muckier'

Coming off of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, star Chris Evans discusses gearing up for Avengers: Age of Ultron right before he started filming, while Scarlett Johansson teases Joss Whedon's script.

Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow has already been spotted on The Avengers: Age of Ultron set in South Korea, however, the actress herself was nowhere to be seen and her new leather catsuit was worn by a stunt double. Anyhow, she recently spoke with The Huffington Post about her fourth turn as the Russian spy and Joss Whedon’s complex script. “I think all of these characters have dark pasts,” she reiterated. “A lot of us are superheroes that didnt choose to be. My character is a mercenary to begin with and was sort of put into the Widow program. She's had a dark past, and shes just beginning to discover how her past affects her when we see her in Cap 2. I think shes had to dehumanize in a way, obviously, as anyone in that position does just to be able to accomplish the things that shes had to. But now shes like, Wow, I actually have nightmares about this stuff. Shes starting to realize, Wow, Im a product of what Ive done in some way. And I think, in Avengers 2, it's about time that our past comes back to haunt us in some wayall of us, I think, in one way or another.” She added, “I think the audience is ready for that. These characters relationships become even muckier. Nothings getting cleaned up and tied up in a big, red shiny bow in Avengers 2. Its complex, and the universe is expanding even more. More characters are coming in, but that only feels like it enriches the story. Joss has made room in a very, very impressive way for those new characters to come in, to be introduced. This is not the kind of rehashing of what youve already seen, but just in a different setting. It's the progression of these characters. And everything's in real time, you know, it's been 3 or 4 years. The world as we know it is the world as we know it. It's the next stepthe next level.”

Meanwhile, right before Chris Evans flew from Los Angeles to Seoul, South Korea to start filming Avengers: Age of Ultron,  the actor talked with the Inquirer about gearing up for the 2015 superhero reassembly. “Everything,” he said when asked what he's looking forward to the most. “It’s nice to see those guys again—the whole crew. It’s nice to know that you are making something good. I have been part of plenty of movies where you start filming and you [wonder], is this going to be good? It’s not easy to make good movies. If it were, there would be a lot more of them. There’s a real sense of comfort and confidence not just in Joss [Whedon], but in the whole Marvel clan,” he continued. “A sense of comfort that what you are working on and what you are giving so much of yourself [to] is going to pay you back with a quality film.” The actor's first day of filming for Age of Ultron was showcased in severel set photos this morning. “Thanks to all the Korean fans who made me feel VERY welcome in their city,” he said in a Twitter post today. Set photos also showed off his new Super Soldier uniform which seems to be a mixure of the two suits he dons in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which hit theaters worldwide today. “Thanks for all the kind words and support this weekend, team!! The Russos made a great movie and I'm proud to be apart of it. Feeling lucky!” he also tweeted.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Cobie Smulders, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, with Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, and James Spader. The film is set for release on May 1, 2015.

Yup, that's definitely the Avengers logo on his shoulder. Makes sense. Cap and Widow had nowhere else to go. I just wonder where that leaves Falcon.

I feel like Chris is really getting into being Captain America! He was hesitant at first but you can really see he's grown into it!

In The Winter Soldier you also see a maturation of Cap from the Avengers. In the Avengers he literally was a fish out of water. It was his first time we see him adjusting to the modern day world. In here as they said real time is passing in these movies now so 2 years Cap has been into the modern world and it's evident he has adjusted a lot.

I REALLY hope to see Falcon in A:AoU because it would seem weird to not see him appear at all from where he is left off at the end of TWS

This suit is a HUGE improvement from his suit in The Avengers. Not that I didn't like it, but it did look a bit "off" at times.
