Hilarious And Brutal "Honest Trailer" For AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Debuts

What did you think of Avengers: Age of Ultron Roughly One Week of Ultron? Well, whether you loved or loathed Marvel's penultimate Phase 2 movie, the "Honest Trailers" team don't hold back when it comes to poking fun at the release, and this is sure to make you laugh...

By JoshWilding - Sep 29, 2015 11:09 AM EST
Avengers: Age of Ultron wasn't exactly a divise movie, but the sequel definitely didn't receive the same overwhelmingly positive response that The Avengers did back in 2012. Regardless, if you can rely on anyone to take a, well, honest look at the movie, it's the "Honest Trailers" team. Without being overly nitpicky, they find a lot to poke fun at here, and while I personally don't agree with a lot of what they're saying (they do make a great point about The Avengers failing to assemble), that doesn't stop it being funny! Anyway, check it out and let us know your thoughts in the usual place.

Honestly, I just skip straight to the "Starring" part. Is the only thing I find slightly amusing about these videos lately.

These videos are ALWAYS good for a laugh.

But taking them 100% seriously and using them to stand in for and replace actual, legitimate criticism of movies? That's where I draw the line.

@SauronsBANE - "These videos are ALWAYS good for a laugh.

Well, yeah! hahaha. I mean some of their points are sound & legit, but they intentionally/purposely nitpick. The lines from the Winter Soldier honest trailer was hilarious!!

ImKennyPowers- i liked the winter soldier one "nobodies favourite avenger is back and he didnt skip leg day"

Wasn't actaully that brutal as thwy recognize early in the vid that AOU was good but not great job. Hard juggling act for Whedon. Did a good job with so much to set up. I like that they acknowledge that here.

And Thor calls Vision "vision" at the end of the film

GhostDog - 9/29/2015, 11:23 AM
I like the "we broke Whedon" part lol. I think we REALLY DID brake him...
LEVITIKUZ
LEVITIKUZ - 9/29/2015, 11:24 AM
Honestly this pretty much 100% described my feelings for AOU.

Lame generic villian
3rd act basically the same as Avengers 1

I mean AOU is good. All the heroes are well written but it's like Iron Man 2 which I like. Which I think is good just not as good as Iron Man 1 but there's still problems.

Remember when we all thought AOU would be on the level of The Dark Knight, Empire Strikes Back, Spider-Man 2 and other great sequels?

Acknowledging all of the expectations for AoU and still admitting that in the end it was a good movie is damn fine praise. As for the other issues raised, like the quips and romance, this are valid but easily rectified criticisms. Although they did fall for the usual fanboy trap and do the "MCU lame villains" critique without bringing up any reasons why, except for "Ultron made jokes", while ignoring all the other aspects of the character.

I feel like I'm the only Hulk fan who is slightly ok with the Hulk/Black Widow romance.

I mean Betty/Bruce is way better but the BW/Hulk wasn't so bad considering Black Widow was sent to get Banner in 1 and the first to see his transformation. Also when thinking about it, Widow was created to be basically a weapon with all that Russian KGB(?) stuff and Banner is a weapon with Hulk inside him.

I mean I see where Whedon is coming from with the Hulk/Black Widow romance.

But still let's get Betty back with Banner because....

Hehehe this was great.

I loved AOU but I think they were on-point with this one.

@LEVITIKUZ - I'm also OK with their thing. Worked as good character arcs in A1 and 2.

Whedon has been silent since AOU. I truly think this film broke him....took everything inside him to finish this.

kinghulk - 9/29/2015, 11:33 AM
LEVITIKUZ- yeah it's ok i dont really have a problem with it besides the fact i feel they could have spend the time they used for it on something else.

Josh Whedon made two marvel movies and he is already broken....

Gotta agree, the final fight was just a copy and paste of the final fight from the first one.

To this day, I still despise the Bruce/Widow thing and the fact that I'm not a fan of scar jo's widow didn't make it any better.

Love Honest trailers, always good for a laugh.

Avengers:AOU was quite good in my opinion, although it has too much Iron Man

I enjoy AOU and it is by far not the worst Marvel movie still better than anything Fox has done but this video was still funny to me
SauronsBANE
SauronsBANE - 9/29/2015, 11:52 AM
@ImKennyPowers Haha yep, the whole point of these videos is shameless nitpicking and critiques just for the fun of it.

But I constantly see people link to these videos when trying to prove their point about why a movie is bad. So lame.

These are usually for jokes but for Age of Ultron this is actually spot on.
