Avengers: Doomsday Hot Toys Figure Reveals Best Look Yet At Kelsey Grammer's Comic-Accurate Beast

Hot Toys has revealed another 1/6th-scale figure based on Avengers: Doomsday, offering a much closer look at Kelsey Grammer's Beast and the costume he'll wear while battling Doctor Doom and the Sentinels.

Avengers: Doomsday will feature the return of many familiar faces from the past, including several of the X-Men. Kelsey Grammer's Beast is among them, and while we've seen his blue-haired form on screen before, Hank McCoy is getting a fully comic-accurate makeover in the MCU.

That was first revealed in The Marvels' post-credits scene, and Hot Toys has now revealed a figure based on Avengers: Doomsday's take on Beast.

Revealing a detailed look at the mutant, we see that his costume features a classic blue and yellow colour scheme—it feels very Astonishing X-Men-inspired—and the "X" logo that will also adorn his teammate Cyclops' suit.

Marvel Studios bringing a classic Beast to the big screen has been welcomed by fans, and with rumours swirling that Hank will factor into Jake Schreier's X-Men reboot, it will be interesting to see how that version of the hero differs.

"Yeah, it was the secret, quiet passion and mind to come back to Beast because I love the character. I love him for what I think he stands for," Grammer previously said. "I mean, to me, to my mind, he’s the Martin Luther King of the mutant community. He’s a man of stature, of integrity, who believes that what you do is who you are, and he’s done everything, and he stands."

"He was slow to action, but once being immersed, he is given no quarter and expects none. He’s an amazing character, an amazing man," the actor continued. "I love playing him. I think people will be happy with what we’re doing when he comes back. But I’d love to see [what happens] and play him again. Honestly, to me, he is one of the great opportunities in my life."

Hot Toys is thrilled to announce the Deluxe Version of the 1/6th scale Beast Collectible Figure. Meticulously crafted to reflect Kelsey Grammer’s portrayal, the figure features a newly developed head sculpt featuring separate rolling eyeballs, complemented by detailed skin textures and facial hair. To push realism even further, his swept-back blue hair is implanted using premium wool material.

Built to showcase his mutant stature, the figure’s newly developed specialized body stands approximately 32.5 cm tall and is layered with soft fiber hair across the torso and limbs, evoking his beastly presence. He is outfitted in a pair of dark blue pants detailed with bold yellow trims and a yellow belt emblazoned with the X-Men logo on the buckle, a nod to his classic look in the comics. An array of interchangeable hands allows collectors to pose Beast in combat stances.

Taking this release to another level, the Deluxe Version exclusively includes a battle-damaged Sentinel head diorama base. Detailed with exposed mechanical cabling, scorched armor, green flame effects, and USB-powered LED light-up eyes, this set-piece sets the stage for a dramatic scene of Beast dominating mutantkind’s most feared mutant-hunting robot.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18.

From what I understand in Kelsey Grammar interviews, this portrayal will be full CGI like the Marvels appearance. But is seems like they’re going out of their way to make it look like he’s practical, like how an olden day Wolfman actor would be made up.

With CGI you have the opportunity to not follow generic human proportions. Give him slightly shorter legs like a Gorilla. Huge shoulders and triceps and a bit of a hunch as he’s often lunging or rolling around or sprinting on all 4’s. But instead it just looks like Kelsey Grammar in a party city fur costume. Very strange choice

@Havenless - I always hated how thin was Nicholas Hoult's Beast, and his upright posture. He needed to be hunched over.
