The first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War was truly extraordinary and it's obvious that the movie is going to be something special. Those involved with the project seemingly have nothing but good things to say too and now it's Chris Hemsworth's turn to drop some hints about the scale of the project.

Asked about why fans should be excited about the movie, the actor dropped a shocking number. "This is one of the biggest things in film history and to be a part of it was just incredible. I think what these characters are about to face — with Thanos — there’s been nothing quite like it. There are 76 cast members or something like that. I think what people are going to be excited about is what I was excited about and that’s Thor meeting the Guardians and Iron Man meeting Doctor Strange."

76 cast members - "or something like that" - is a massive number for a superhero ensemble and while many of those are no doubt minor parts or cameos, Infinity War is clearly going to make history!

"They’re going to be massive," Hemsworth said of Infinity War and its untitled sequel. "I finished literally two days ago and I looked at (directors) Joe and Anthony (Russo) and said, ‘I don’t know how you guys have gotten this far and I don’t know how you’re going to hold it together and complete this thing, but my hat’s off to you.’" Will they be able to pull it off? We'll find out this coming May...

I’m cautiously optimistic about this one. I’m worried it might be a little too stuffed with cameos and minor characters to keep focus away from the typical MCU connect-the-dots and on the story, but the one thing I’ve seen from the marketing of this film is the sense of urgency and real tension something like Age of Ultron severely lacked. Nervous I am, but excited as hell to see this nonetheless. Here’s to hoping this is something special.

@TheRealTomServo - I'm thinking almost all films have lots of minor characters. It's just that with almost all films, we don't already know the history of each of the minor characters. With these Avenger films, we will. It may just be one of them having a couple of lines, but, again, this is normal is most films. We just don't already know shit about them like we will in the Avenger films.

There are 98 ways this movie can fail and 2 that it can succeed. The pressure that Avengers and Civil War had to deliver is gonna be nothing compared to this.

There is no way this movie won't be labeled disappointing. Even if it's great. I know it sounds pessimistic but it's true. It's the track record Marvel has and the build-up that there is no way it will universally acclaimed.

@Jeight8 - for myself. I think the film will be great but I don't think it will be "the greatest CBM there is or ever was". I
That's to say it's just another Avenegers film but with the he added benefit of all characters coming together (which is the draw for the film). I think the the story may become "basic" (not a negative, just simply find the stones and protect the, before Thanos comes) in order to balance the cast.

I could be wrong as we literally no very little of the film, and even still if I am correct that doesn't mean it won't be great.
