BOX OFFICE: After Massive Chinese Opening, AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Hits $1.1 Billion
Avengers: Age of Ultron has reached another milestone this weekend, topping $1.1 billion worldwide. Hit the jump for details on that, an update on how it's performing internationally and domestically, and the chances of it topping the amount taken by The Avengers in 2012...
It was only a couple of days ago that Avengers: Age of Ultron hit $1 billion worldwide, but the sequel has now reached another milestone with a global haul of $1.142 billion. That's in big part down to its amazing performance in China, a country which has seen it take a whopping $156.3 million in just six days. Domestically, it's running 19% behind The Avengers, but 10% ahead of Iron Man 3. As a result, it's thought that Avengers: Age of Ultron will reach $450 million in North America (where it took an estimated $38.84 million this weekend for a total of $372.01 million).
Overseas, the sequel has taken $770.5 million. Globally, it's the eight highest grossing movie of all-time and is still expected to surpass the $1.5 billion earned by The Avengers in 2012. Thoughts?
