What Sort Of Impact Has AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Had On ANT-MAN AND THE WASP And CAPTAIN MARVEL?

Avengers: Infinity War writers Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus spill the beans on what sort of impact their work on that and Avengers 4 has had on Ant-Man and The Wasp and Captain Marvel...

Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 may not tell one big story over two parts but the fact that Ant-Man and The Wasp and Captain Marvel come out between them definitely complicates matters. Why are Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne off doing their own thing after Thanos has attacked the Earth and how much of an impact will Carol Danvers' 90s set adventure have on what's to come in Avengers 4

We're just going to have to wait and see but writers Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus have now shed at least a little light on how they're going about handling being part of a shared universe.

"You can’t make them overly dependent on each other," Markus explains, "and yet you still want to have this bloodstream flowing through the universe." McFeely elaborates on that, by adding: "Peyton Reed and his group of writers are going to make whatever movie they want. We had very small requests like, “It would be great if right there that person was—is that okay? Good?” You always make the best movie you can. Same thing with Black Panther and same thing with Captain Marvel."

They’re gonna make the movies they’re gonna make and in this unique case, very small tiny suggestions for beginnings and endings like that,"
he concluded. This makes a lot of sense but is unlikely to stop fans from wondering how Ant-Man and The Wasp and Captain Marvel will deal with the fallout of Infinity War and inform what comes next. What do you guys think? Sound off below.

Is Ant-Man and the Wasp actually set during A3 & A4? I thought it was just coincidence thats when it was to be released.

If so, this gets me more hyped for Ant-Man and the Wasp🤩

@ChangAlang - I suspect it set before A3.

It's seems odd that while all the Avenegers are facing Thanos in A3 and I assume A4, that Scott and a Hope would go off on a seperate unrelated mission. Plus, the Antman and the Wasp trailer. Made seem like Earth was running perfectly normal.

I think it almost garunteed that Thanos will alter the universe by the end of A3 (given all the set leaks we've seen for A4) and I expect that Scott and Hope avoid being altered by staying in the microverse. Allow them to enter the "altered MCU" wiht all their memories of the old universe and convince the "altered" Avnegers to fight.

That’s what I thought in regards to the setting. I’ll blame my article reading skills for the misinterpretation🤪

Thanks guys [no intention to be gender specific]😊

@StormXmen123 - if they're up against Ghost - who has a penchant for corporate espionage/ sabotage - I'd assume they're "putting out a fire". Maybe intercepting a breach at Stark/something with Pym tech before it falls into the wrong hands.

I'm hoping they spend more time in the quantum realm; the Micronauts will have to wait...!

@ChangAlang - It is set before A3, but that still means it has to connect to A3 because it's officially the closest movie chronologically to A3/4. So you can't have say, the entire Manhattan area destroyed a few weeks before A3 starts (not that they were going to do that, and it looks like west coast anyways).

I think something huge will happen at the end of infinity war. Something that directly effects the whole universe, thats why ant man and the wasp is a smaller type movie, and captain marvel is set in the 90s.

@ImmortalCipher - yeah its no coincidence that they have them two movies inbetween ....but a I do also think that the quantum realm will have something to do with avengers 4

@Himura -Haha,Pretty much, i doubt it will have a unique style though. Don't expect any 90s type clothing for instance, since much of it is about shield

The great revelation will be that Nick Fury is a Skrull since the 90s. The paranoia increases, and the heroes begin to see Skrulls everywhere.

It sounds like a really delicate balance. Collaborative, but also carefully respectful of not stepping on toes. Imagine writing a plot outline in an email with Feige, the Russos, Markus, McFeely, Peyton Reed, Coogler, Waititi, Gunn, and so many more talented people on the CC list. The absolute terror I would feel before pressing that send button, knowing that your dumb ideas are about to be seen by people who know so much better than you what will work and what won't...

Has everyone forgotten that "Ant-Man and The Wasp" is set before "Infinity War" and "Captain Marvel" is set in the nineties? They will have no impact on Infinity War. I mean I hope, just as Batman v Superman referenced the events setting up Wonder Woman's story, they will tease at what's to come in these films (I love how much Marvel has been greatly influenced by DC Films. This is what the Cinematic Universes are supposed to be doing, learning from each other in order to improve on what works for the other one. Like how Warner Bros. FINALLY has a DC Film coming out that actually fits the campy approach, instead of forcing it on films it doesn't work on. Their "Captain Marvel (Shazam!)" Is their "Guardians of the Galaxy." and Marvel is FINALLY treating its characters like real people again, and giving their villains dimension and actually suggesting that sometimes they can be in the right, even though their methods are misguided.) but chances are will, pretty much, be like "Rogue One" and "Solo" for the MCU.

@SisterSunday52 - wow that might be the stupidest thing you've ever said that Marvel's being influenced by DC, you mean not to make shit movies well then you're right. So far the only movie they got right was Wonder Woman but you keep living in delusional land

Nick Fury and General Ross are Skrulls. That is why Hawkeye told Tony to watch his back in Civil War. Both of these movies are prequels but they will have connecting themes. I imagine that Ant-man and the Wasp will explain the quantum realm and Multi verses. Some how they will be stuck in the quantum realm and Thanos's use of the reality stone is how they make it back to this reality. I would not be suprised if they (ant-man & Wasp) find Captain Marvel in the quantum realm.
