FAN ART: Advert For STARK'S SHAWARMA SHACK

FAN ART: Advert For STARK'S SHAWARMA SHACK

Here's a fun one. Inspired by Iron Man's suggestion, and the team's subsequent post-credit visit to the "shawarma joint about two blocks from here", artist Jon Defreest has put together this ad..

Apparently Defreest came up with this ad for Vulture after he heard about the big spike in shawarma sales in the greater Los Angeles area thanks to the references in Marvel's The Avengers. As anyone who has seen the movie (and I'm pretty sure that's everyone on here by now) knows, Robert Downey Jr. apparently ad-libbed the line - "You ever try Shawarma? There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't what it is, but I want to try it." - as Tony Stark regains consciousness after his fall. That, and the post credits scene featuring the team chowing down at said shawarma joint resulted in a sales boost for the tasty Arabic snack.

Can you imagine how much cash that place would make if it really opened up? I think I see another money spinner there Marvel, not that you need it! As is regularly reported here, The Avengers shows no sign of slowing down and looks set to make a trillion zillion dollars or something by next week.

Who knew this movie would spawn a new found love of a particular food group that is unheard of in a lot of places around the United States. My interest is at an all time high for trying this.

Coincidentally, I had a gyro just a couple of hours before seeing the midnight show. I applauded the loudest among the dozen or so people left in the audience when the scene played.

Where I live there's at least 2 shawarma places on every block so when I went to watch The Avengers that sent resulted in a lot of laughter in the theatre I was in.

That white stuff is probably Techina, an Israrli sauce.

I love Schwarma, every Thursday night I used to go out with a friend and get a Schwarma hoagie with everything in it, including fries, awesome stuff :)

I want a twirling gyro appliance machine in my kitchen I would shawarma/ gyro everything I eat. Special sauces and all.

I live in the middle of the Midwest, while the gypsies brought the gyros to the area years ago this shawarma stuff has stayed away due to most likely culture taboo. I'll bet three of these places open in the next month within 60 miles of me. Which by the looks of it, is WAY to long to wait.

It's a [frick]ing Kebab! This is the funniest thing in the world! Imagine a western country suddenly hearing about a "Steak Bun" or something and saying shit like, "They're really delicious, actually" and it being a friggin' burger. Us westerners call these things Ke-Babs. Do-Ner Ke-Bab. Eat only when pissed.
