Joss Whedon Wants To Reboot HOWARD THE DUCK; Clark Gregg Campaigns For Captain Marvel

In a couple of light hearted interviews from last night's Saturn Awards, The Avengers director Joss Whedon reveals his desire to reboot Howard the Duck, while Clark "Agent Coulson" Gregg campaigns for the role of Captain Marvel. Check it out!

"I think it's time for the 'Howard the Duck' reboot that nobody expects," Joss Whedon joked when asked by Yahoo! Movies which other Marvel Universe characters he would like to take a crack at when he's finished with the sequel to the biggest superhero movie of all-time. The character was last seen on the big screen in a live action 1986 movie produced by George Lucas. He now very occasionally pops up in the odd comic book here and there, but it seems unlikely that we'll ever see him join the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Someone we will more than likely see sooner rather than later is Captain Marvel; a character that Clark Gregg would love to play if he had the build of his The Avengers co-star Chris Hemsworth. "I can't say this because these guys are like, giant muscular superheroes, but if I had a magical transformation, I wouldn't mind being Captain Marvel. Although, there's a new Captain Marvel in the comics who's a lady alien, and she's hot. I would be a lady alien Captain Marvel." What do you guys think?

If you were born in the early eighties you loved the Howard the duck movie. It was part of our culture. Obviously not as good as The Goonies but still classic 80's nostalgia

Howard The Duck making a cameo in a crowd scene would be cool. Make it something you have to look for so it wont distract from the film, but go for it.

That or maybe the original Howard The Duck movie poster hanging up someplace on one of the sets.

screw that, @Inhuman, if...or should I say when we get Captain Marvel it needs to be THE captain Marvel, and Carol can be Ms. Marvel, none of that Carol as Captain Marvel crap, worst freaking decision ever!!!!!

Howard the Duck is not the greatest movie but I look at it as more of a cult classic. It was a childhood favorite of mine. A reboot would be interesting to see although I hope it has the wit and charm that the original has.

@MarvelPsycho79

She got her power when Captain Marvel's Alien Physiology was fused with hers. So she's part alien, and he's part right.
