POLL: What Do You Think Of Captain America's New Look In The Avengers?

In Captain America: The First Avenger, we saw Chris Evans' Steve Rogers go from wearing a USO version of the classic costume to his own makeshift version, and finally the outfit he designed himself alongside Howard Stark. We all knew that Cap would be getting a make-over for The Avengers, and have since seen a brief glimpse of it after the credits of The First Avenger and in a promotional poster unveiled at Comic-Con. (where the actual suit was also on display) Last week however, we got to see the super soldier in action wearing the full costume, and I want to know what you guys now think of his new look, especially as I've seen some mixed reactions in the articles where the various set photos and videos have been posted. Cast your vote below, and check back in a few days time for the results!

STARRING:

Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America
Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man
Chris Hemsworth as Thor
Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye
Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Ramanoff/Black Widow
Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk
Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury
Tom Hiddleston as Loki

RELEASE DATE: May 4th, 2012. (US)

I love it! I think it still maintains a look of practicality, updates it to a modern style as opposed to the WWII look, and really looks a lot like the suit in the comics. Plus, the wings are still painted on, rather than being actual wings, which is always good. A+ on the new design!

Those worried about practicality, The First Avenger costume was kept practical by having Howard make it... Tony will probably make it in this one making the sleeker more modern version of the costume... it still looks pretty practical as far as you can go with a guy wearing a flag for a uniform... I mean come on there is no wings on his helmet or his ears sticking though his helmet... and I think all can agree that at least it looks better than this:

considering it's hasn't been through Post-Production and still looks pretty cool, I feel confident it will look badass in the end-run. I just wish they kept the ear holes like we saw in the poster.

It looks like the 616 costume, so I like it. My only real complaint is the nikes esq boots... and the Zippers. Please CGI those out disney.

I like it but the helmet makes his forehead look a bit big. Chin-strap wouldn't have been bad.

@JoshW I've seen an age of CBM users' poll but has there ever been a native country of CBM users' poll???

I wish it the gloves, boots and belt were brown leather. Something about the brown really makes the looks work. But besides that they pretty much nailed the look of Cap.

I think it looks great. Onlything i wouldve done different is change the color of the belt pouches and made the white part on the arms go all the way around. Other than that, thumbs up.

That photo up top doesn't really show it, but from certain angles, his ear protectors stick out WAY to far. Looks kinda odd:

@OTHERSIDE. your right about that. This is the best one to date imo- I liked the WWII version but it just seemed too bulky.

CorndogBurglar

I think it looks great. They managed to make it look form fitting while not being cheesy like spandex or rubber.

I don't think they could've made it look any better.

The First Avegner costume was cool and all, but it fit better in WWII, not modern time. and the helmet on that one looked a little off and loose fitting to me.
Brail1975
Brail1975 - 8/22/2011, 9:35 AM
Could be better. They should have kept the first one and just added Blue fatigue pants like in the ultimate versions.

i [frick]ing love it. it is one of the best incarnations of the suit although the helmet looks a bit big but that's ok ...

Overall, I like it. The mask just looks kind of awkward in most of the shots. We'll have to see how it looks when we get some official pics.

Very Captain America-ish. I was hoping it would look more like armor like in TFA instead of a cloth suit.
Spidey91
Spidey91 - 8/22/2011, 9:48 AM
I love it,but the helmet looks kinda funny depending of the angle thou. but everythig else is perfect: I love the boots, the gloves and the way they make it more sleek while keeping it practical
captainrogers
captainrogers - 8/22/2011, 9:49 AM
I dig it. If I could make any changes to it, it would be to maybe change the color of the ear coverings to,maybe a leather brownish/black color, or even silver, just to break up the blue a bit further on his helm.
Also I'd make the blue on his arms white all the way around, from about the obviouse bicep seperation/ribbing to where the sleeves meet his gloves.
But the suit looks good, and I hope it makes it so Cap can show of his agility and fighting prowess a bit more.
