Robert Downey Jr. Talks The Avengers, Chris Evans, The Leaked Trailer And More!

The red carpet premiere for Marvel and Joe Johnston's praised-Captain America: The First Avenger film was held in Los Angeles today. And while the ensemble cast evidently made an appearance, other actors from Marvel's Cinematic Universe came down to support the film, including Thor's Chris Hemsworth & Jaimie Alexander, and notably Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr.

When asked if he was aware of Sunday's leaked trailer, Downey answered, "Yes, I did. I'm happy it leaked and I'm happy it was taken down." The 'Iron Man' actor then went on to say, "I said this at comic-con last year - that it was an incredibly ambitious idea, and the fact that we're getting close to having completed realizing it, I have some pride about that."

When asked about his 'Captain America' co-star, Chris Evans, Downey proclaimed, "Hes really sharp, hes really fun and hes created I think just the right tone for Steve Rogers. I mean Captain America is the original gangster of the Marvel universe," Downey continued, "So I think Avengers doesn't really work unless he works, so I tip my hat to him."

And lastly, when asked how production on The Avengers was progressing, Downey revealed, "I actually think I have four days left," and jokingly continued, "So I have contributed significantly."

For those doubting RDJ's acting skills, please check out the Bio of CHAPLIN that he starred in. He's absolutely brilliant. The only high-profile movie that he's made that I cannot watch is Natural Born Killers. His Australian shtick is irritating beyond belief. Didn't care for Ironman 2 either, tooooo many plot holes. Not RDJ's fault. Bring on THE AVENGERS!!!!!

LOL, what I like about RDJ is that when he's filming an Iron Man movie he really THINKS he's Tony Stark. He even uses his suits and all.

Tropic Thunder was funny because that's how he is in real life, he literally dresses as the character 24/7.

I just hope RDJ understands that Steve NOT Tony is the leader and in charge of the Avengers. I really hope they do not give Iron Man the "Wolverine" treatment.

@billthebutcher, How is my comment making me a "DC butt pirate"? I like RDJ. I just said he's overrated. And if we are gonna bring Christian Bale into this, I can give several examples of his various roles that show great acting talent.

@Bakongo, No, I haven't. I said every role that I've seen him in. Personality wise.

@BluePallando, Well, personality wise (i.e: The witty, care free perverted bachelor) Tony Stark isn't much different than his role as Barris in A Scanner Darkly.

And I forget whoever mentioned Tropic Thunder. That movie was awful, but RDJ did do a... bearable job in that.

I never said I didn't like him. I said he's overrated.

Jeez, when someone says one little thing about Marvels precious Iron Man... lol.

Then again, DC Fanboys are exactly like that with Nolan, so there's really no difference.

@billthebutcher, I also couldn't care less for Ryan Reynolds. In my opinion the man can't do a single thing as a main character without turning it into a pathetic romance comedy.
