As we all know, Scarjo will reprise her role as Black Widow in Joss Whedon's The Avengers. She hasn't been spotted on set yet but is believed to have been shooting scenes at a facility doubling for a Russian base recently. Anyway, speaking to MTV the young actress assures fans that the Avengers franchise is in good hands and that we can expect a completely different type of flick than we have previously seen from two other big directors of Marvel Studio movies..

"Joss is a fanboy. I think that Joss is going to protect the franchise by staying true to the characters' integrity."

"I think Jon Favreau is such a different director from Joss Whedon. The flavour is different, their fingerprints are different. They just have a different way of storytelling - same with Thor director Kenneth Branagh."

Johansson also reveals that her favorite scene in the movie is when the whole team is assembled for the first time..

"That was kind of amazing when all of us were there. It's extremely surreal. It's strange."

The more characters the better! Hope to see the VISION and SCARLET WITCH someday. Hank Pym too, but not necessarily as Giant Man.

The Vision could be downplayed too, since he´s too powerful, he could be a science officer in a lab, sort of like DATA in Star Trek.

Please, please, please Joss don't sacrifice a good story for over the top effects and set pieces. Out of all the Marvel directors I feel they really got it right with you, and ever since Iron Man and Hulk the Marvel movies have been nothing but expensive watered down stories that are more effects driven then story driven. They have made some beautiful movies like Captain America, but ever since Hulk I always got the feeling I was watching a glorified toy commercial.

Yes I know the target demographic is 10-25, but please tell a more adult story with the Avengers and don't pander to any studio executives or producers, stick to your guns because I really think you know what you are doing.

I trust Whedon to handle this well. I loved all his work on Firefly & Serenity, not to mention his run on Astonishing X-Men.

Bob Orci, the actual writer of "Star Trek" lurks "Trekmovie" all the time.

I wouldn´t doubt that Whedon creeply stalks in here too.

Why would she speak with a Russian accent when in a Russian facility?

She would probably speak Russian.

@marvel72 > "had a few hit tv shows buffy, angel & firefly & serenity was pretty good sci-fi movie." These really aren't enough, buddy!

Who the hell gave the credentials to this guy, anyway?? ?The Avengers deserve someone more capable!

Ya know I think she looked way hotter in IM2 than she is looking so far in Avengers. They are probably going with the shorter hair style because it resembles the comics more, but she was way hotter with it long.

And what is up with Thor havin' hair like he should be the lead singer for Cinderella?
VictorHugo

Same reason they gave green flag to Bryan Singer and Jon Favreau.

TV dudes who can make the best use of the budget, and direct a army of actors in TV language.

Rob Bowman is one of those dudes, working on the "X-files" TV series and big screen movie, then he goes direct "Reign of Fire", which was a good cheap but effective movie with Christian Bale. Then his next movie "Elektra" was a flop, so i guess we won´t be seeing him again.

Wouldn't shock me if Whedon stalks the sites, but the guy's gotta be working 16-18 hour days right now. I doubt he has the time.

CherryBomb- Actually, she's not that hot either. She's very Blake Lively to me. Flat acting and average looking girl. Only Scarjo has bigger baggage. I seriously don't get what all the hype is about with her. She looks like an alien with tits and a wig, to me.

I'd take her over any of those other Hollywood sluts (Fox,Kardashian, etc.) any day. Some of you have such high standards when it comes to women....ScarJo is a different kind of hot in my opinion and sure her chest is amazing but those pouty lips are the turn on for me.

More like ruin it. The last thing you need in a comic book movie is a fanboy directing. This is going to be the same disaster as Superman Returns. And seriously keeping Johanson after her terrible performance in Iron Man 2? For shame

She's a vomit. Whedon's perfect to helm the group-dynamic, he'll direct the shit out of this. Hopefully this lame-ass character will take a back-seat.

i have been a massive joss whedon fan since i was ten, that's nine years I've been following his work and style, and I can promise you that this film is in the right hands. Joss knows comedy, action and most of all, story, better than any direction I know of.

Let me put it this way. I hate all but three vampire movies. But I LOVE buffy. I cant stand space shows or movies. I didnt even like star wars. But i LOVE firefly anf serenity. and i discovered firefly and buffy without any knowledge about who created them. Joss knows what fans like, and he knows a good story above anything else. He can balance comedy, action and an awesome, intelligent story better than anyone I know. I have complete faith in the Avengers. And he's a fan as much as any of us. He wants this to be good as much as any of us do. And he knows how much his potential as a recognised director and writer is riding on this. he will not fail us. worst thing iv seen from joss ( a few eps of dollhouse)

still beats the best tv/movie of anyone else i've seen. watch the genius opening of serenity, which introduces the villain, 9-member cast and mythology of the film without a single break in storytelling, and three scenes which melt seamlessly into each other effortlessly.

someone who loves what they're doing does what they're doing best.
