How come Hawkeye is getting no love? The guy did not even mention him. Also in all the trailers and clips you don't even hear him speak. I hope the rumors are true and he just completley steals the show.

Love how they say "fanboy nation" and then show a fan-GIRL yelling.

See, this is what annoys me. It's why I got pissed off by that New York Times article on Game of Thrones, when it clearly implied throughout the piece that GoT was just another show that only RPGers or sci-fi/fantasy "fanboys" would like...

WTF is wrong with the media that they can't see that writing off anything that has more to offer than a bunch of tanned morons starting bar fights or anything with an ounce of fantasy as nothing more than fanboy obsession is the DUMBEST and LAZIEST way to describe the audience of a particular genre?

Ugh...Rant over, but if I hear one more person say, "Ooh, this will get the fanboys slobbering all over themselves," in one more variation, I swear I'm gonna level a studio.

Kudos for Disney for pimping this movie in primetime on their show who's average age demographic is 45+. It seems like they are trying to broaden the appeal of this movie.

@HonestAbe

They really aren't spending any money here. Disney owns ABC, so you are likely to see this movie pimped on various ABC shows and also see 1000 tie ins during Sports Center on ESPN.

The people at Nightline definitely don't understand the fanbase. Every question the guy asked came out awkwardly. He'll probably get the point after he sees the movie. Other than that, that was an awesome promo.

@bgg1175

Pump your brakes kid. Remember who owns ABC. No other news outlet will do a story on The Avengers. Outside of the comic book community nobody is geeking out hardcore for this film. Comparing it to The Phantom Menace in terms of hype if one of the most egregious uses of Hyperbole I have seen on this site. Star Wars was a cultural phenomenon, and none of the previous Marvel movies have even come close to reaching that status. The movie is good don't get me wrong, but it's not breaking any new ground. It's the perfect Marvel movie, and fans will be very pleased with it, however it won't be a cultural phenomenon.

feel kinda sorry for Jeremy Renner being the ONLY one NOT getting the mention at the beginning intro of the cast attending the studio interview. he IS there, too.

anyway..it's still my humble opinion..this movie's gonna be the next ENORMOUS EVENT movie since Avatar. it's gonna be even way bigger than that blue cat people silliness.

i need a shower after the shameless cross promotion between affiliated companies. so nightline is now completely uncommitted to bringing us news and/or informational programming? this has nothing to do with my excitement for the movie (which is just as big as any of yours) it's just kinda gross, in that "now nightline is the same as entertainment tonight or access hollywood" kinda way.
