THE AVENGERS To Highlight India's Annual Comic-Con

Moving deeper into 2012, the long-awaited superhero extravaganza flick, Marvel's The Avengers, is only two months away. And with major conventions nearing kickoff, promotion for the Joss Whedon-directed film, among others, is almost guaranteed. with that said, India is kicking off their 2nd annual Comic Convention this weekend in Dilli Haat, New Delhi. And snagging Marvel and Disney as associate sponsors, check out what's being offered.

Marvel's THE AVENGERS will be hosting the ultimate fan zone culminating in a special character appearance of Iron Man on the 19th February. THE AVENGERS fan zone will be at Comic Con India running 17th- 19th February at Dilli Haat, New Delhi. Fans can catch 'The Avengers' in action exclusively at the convention at the special 'Marvel' zone with comics, merchandise and many other surprises. The three day extravaganza will include high-octane action featuring activities such as unleashing the unstoppable power of Thor by smashing the hammer on the arcade, wiping out the boulders in your way with the help of Hulk hands, be part of the ultimate superhero photo in the special Marvel photo booth area and demonstrate your superhero allegiance by collecting your favourite Marvel Avengers superhero tattoos. Visitors to the THE AVENGERS fan zone also have a shot at winning the 'Avengers Fan Of The Day' title by qualifying as the top two participants in one of many activities inside the zone. One lucky 'Avenger Fan Of The Day' has a chance to win a once in a lifetime invite to the red-carpet premiere of the film in Mumbai.

Although fortunate for any Indian CBM fanboys, the rest of us have images and reports back from the convention over the weekend to look forward to. And also, while previous reports suggested that 'Iron Man' actor Robert Downey Jr. had no solid plans to visit India for The Avengers, it's possible the "special character appearance of Iron Man" mentioned above could mean just that. What do you think?

Also, pre-screenings for The Avengers have knowingly been held this past month with the very few reactions, so far, positive. And now another has shown itself from a "male, 30-something, professional," stating:

"That movie was T.E.R.R.I.B.L.E.. And by T.E.R.R.I.B.L.E. I mean Terrific, Electrifying, Radical, Really Incredible, Beautifully done, Looooooooove, [and] Extrasuperduperamazinglyawesome."
"Freaking. Loved. Every second of it. I sat on the edge of my seat the entire time. Like a kid. I'm probably going to see it at least 45 times in the theater. Ok, maybe only 30 times. But a lot."

I love that everything I've heard from this movie so more has been overwhelmingly good.. I hope it sets records so future CBMs get only better.. Marvel is also playing their best hand here so if it does what they expect they're gonna really start putting movies out and expanding that universe.. Something I'd really love to see happen.. AVENGERS! ASSEMBLE!
