Now finished with filming for Thor: The Dark World, Tom Hiddleston's acclaimed portrayal of the God of Mischief, Loki, will have spanned three films by the end of 2013; a record for any villain of Marvel's cinematic universe. And considering Loki caused the big assembly of The Avengers this year, could he appear in Joss Whedon's 2015 sequel? The English actor answers, via MSN:
“I don't know,” he said. “And that really is the honest answer. I know I've been known for obfuscation in other quarters, but I have no idea. I haven't spoken to Joss. He's definitely doing it. So I suspect not, only because I think that probably the audiences are tired of Loki being the bad guy. Maybe the Avengers need somebody else to fight. But I'd love to be part of it again.”
Marvel Studios head producer Kevin Feige hasn't been shy about having Loki appear in several movies like his comic-counterpart. Plus, The Avengers mid-credits teaser did indicate that the notorious Mischief-maker has unfinished business with another big villain, Thanos, who is rumored for the 2015 sequel among other things; though that aftermath could easily transpire in a third film.
However, given that Joss Whedon recently turned in the first outline of the highly-anticipated follow-up to The Avengers, and he's yet to contact Tom, Hiddlestoners don't get your hopes up; especially considering his fate in The Dark World won't be known until next fall. What do you think?

Marvel Studios already describes their highly-anticipated sequel to the No. 3 highest grossing film of all time, “Marvel's The Avengers,” as another “big cinematic event.” And expected to feature the reassembly of iconic Marvel super heroes Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow & Nick Fury taking on a new unexpected enemy, new additions to the superhero team up of a lifetime are possible.
Expecting reprisals from Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson, and directed by Joss Whedon from a screenplay by Joss Whedon, “Marvel’s The Avengers” sequel is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963 and a comics institution ever since. And set for release May 1, 2015, the film is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. In addition to the sequel, Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters including “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013; “Thor: The Dark World ” on November 8, 2013; “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” on April 4, 2014; and “Guardians of the Galaxy” on August 1, 2014.
