Now that there are more theories on who the Avengers will fight in the upcoming movie than there are conspiracy theories surrounding the JFK assassination and moon landing combined, is there room in the collective fanboy stomach to digest another one? Of course there is! After all, actually seeing a comic book movie these days is only one third of the fun. The other two thirds are speculating about it before and complaining about it after.

Michael Moran over at bleeding cool news has put out yet another theory on what the "serepent" seen in the Avengers trailer is. Check out what he said or more accurately, showed everybody today.

Well, I was flicking through Avengers #17 earlier today, because it was free, and I noticed this.

In case that’s too squinty for you, here’s the gist:

"Sin, the daughter of The Red Skull, has unleashed an ancient evil into the world – The forgotten Asgardian God known only as The Serpent!"

Sound off below boys and I'll meet you head on down there in the dirty trenches of the comment board!

@teabag: yeah it's pretty obvious what is to me. This picture I think settles it. But people are going to speculate right up until the midnight showing.

But it has a mouth. So it's not just a random ship. And also look at the way it moves. It's clearly a living thing under that metal armor thingy.

A high tech ship with a mouth and eye sockets? IDK what the [frick] it is, but it could be a mix of everything we've speculated.

Guys, it's just a big ship made to look like a living creature.
