Check Out 4 Minutes Of Batman Live

Bleeding Cool have posted a four minute sneak peak of the Batman Live stage show featuring Batman himself going up against The Joker. You need to see this to believe it folks..

Faithfully adapted from the DC Comics characters and stories, BATMAN LIVE focuses on Robin’s quest for justice, which leads him to follow in the footsteps of his hero, the mysterious vigilante known as the Batman – much to the dismay of his protective guardian, millionaire Bruce Wayne – who secretly happens to be Batman.

This dynamic triangle resolves itself in a non-stop thrill-ride across Gotham City that transforms Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson into the legendary crime-fighters Batman and Robin and transports the audience from the Big Top of Haly’s Circus to the lower depths of Arkham Asylum – from the glittering peaks of the Penguin’s Iceberg Lounge to the subterranean wonders that await inside the Batcave, which features a revolutionary, all-new Batmobile designed exclusively for BATMAN LIVE.

I enjoyed the clumsy drunk clowns that were the teeth, Jokers shimmy, and the guy that broke his glow stick at about the 3 min mark of the video.

It looks sillier than the old 60s TV series.
I think this clip will convince more people to stay away from the show then entice them to see it.

But if it's fun, and the action is good, won't it still be awesome? I'm confused! Transformers gets a pass..
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 7/5/2011, 6:37 AM
haha, how? It's not at all. There were moments in Transformers that were as bad as anything in that fracking video above. Remember when Optimus got caught up in those cables for like a half an hour so that Bay could switch the action? lmao. "Wreckbots, help me..I'm stuck in some cables!

"Faithfully adapted from the DC Comics characters and stories,"

As a child, my favorite part of Batman comics were the badly choreographed dance sequences and mediocre performances by the characters.

I love that the score is really like Danny Elfman's stuff. I also love how the Joker is soooo much better than the one from TDK. I kinda wanna see the whole thing.

I was thinking the exact same thing. This is what the first Batman would have looked like with Joel Schumacher directing it.

First off and once again, THIS IS NOT (frick)ING MUSICAL

Second, this was rehearsal. So they're not giving a 100% cause it's just practice

And third, I love Nolan's universe just as much as the next fanboy but I can't wait till he's officially done with the Batman franchise because of bitch ass pussies like the majority of you here who complain and only trash everything on this website. You're all the reason Comic Con is gonna suck this year. You're all the reason Marvel and DC aren't doing shit this year. Cause they mostly want to cater to the same people who says their shit sucks.

All I see are the same comments saying Schumacher this and Schumacher that. So is Schumacher the new word term for bright lighting and looking like the material? Has everyone forgotten what Batman and his characters originally looked like or is Nolan's interpretation the only one you all know? The characters in this show (with the exception of Harley Quinn) look like they were ripped from the comics. But all of your ignorance won't let any of you see that. You'll suck on Nolan's d*ck forever even though BB and TDK stray away from comics, but you're all so quick to judge it when it looks just like the material.

Are you gonna seriously tell me that Batman's costume doesn't look badass here? Are you gonna seriously tell me The Joker doesn't look like The Joker here? Are you gonna seriously tell me that Joker's gian menacing head rolling out towards Bats and his henchmen flipping out of it wasn't the least bit cool?! If you guys seriously think that then you can all go (frick) yourselves

Cirque de So-lame!
Faithfully adapted from CBM fan nightmares had after watching Batman and Robin.

Looks like Batman had a little trouble with his cable hookups at the beginning lol.

After the Spider-man musical was such a success, why not go for it again with Batman? Who is the intended audience for these things?! (other than lilej2 ^ )
GrandRapidsHero
GrandRapidsHero - 7/5/2011, 12:23 PM
wow....I knew that this wasn't going to be the best adaptation of Batman, but that was pretty bad. Of course, this looks like it was just a dress rehearsal, so maybe they're waiting till opening night to really go for it
GrandRapidsHero
GrandRapidsHero - 7/5/2011, 12:27 PM
I'm still lost as to why anyone would think that a superhero story belongs on stage, especially an arena one! I would be more down to check this out if it was in a 500 seat theatre or something....to put it on such a large scale automatically means that all the sets, characters, and the story itself are going to be way more over the top..but thats just my opinion, good luck Batman Live!
