Ace Showbiz point out a recent interview by the Philippine Daily Inquirer in which Christian Bale shared his thoughts on saying goodbye to the role of Batman for the final time now that filming on
The Dark Knight Rises has concluded. Both the star and director Christopher Nolan have stated on numerous occasions in the past that this will be their final movie starring the Caped Crusader. However, with anticipation at an all time high after the release of a new batch of photos and details in Empire magazine, the desire to see them both return for more installments in the franchise is sure to continue growing.
Here's what the British actor had to say on the end of his time as the iconic DC superhero.
"I wrapped [up The Dark Knight Rises] a few days ago so that will be the last time I'm taking that cowl off. I believe that the whole production wrapped yesterday, so it's all done. Everything's finished. It's me and [director] Chris Nolan - that will be the end of that Batman era."
Sounds very final indeed. However, with
The Dark Knight having taken over £1 billion at the worldwide box office, will a similar performance in 2012 result in Warner Bros. attempting to lure both Nolan and Bale back for a fourth movie? With so much talk of this being the last, is that even a possibility? Sound off with your thoughts below.
