COMICS: DC To Launch ARKHAM MANOR & GOTHAM ACADEMY This October

Because if there's one thing we all needed, it was more Batman books! DC Comics have two new ongoing Bat-titles coming our way in October, and you can see the covers for the first issues of each after the jump.

EW provide some details on what we can expect:

"In Arkham Manor, stately Wayne Manor gets made over into the local psycho dungeon, and, perhaps predictably, some inmates wind up dead. Things are a bit less bleak in Gotham Academy, a new monthly teen drama set at Gotham City’s most prestigious prep school. (Bruce Wayne is a benefactor; other familiar characters may pop up in Academy‘s twisted, teenybopping universe.)"

Arkham Manor is written by Gerry Duggan and drawn by Shawn Crystal and hits shelves October 1. Gotham Academy is written by Becky Cloonan and Brendan Fletcher and drawn by Karl Kerschl, and will be with us October 22.

If Batman wasn't such a badass he wouldn't be in the spotlight most of the time.

Why do they look like Marvel books?

Why would Bruce Wayne ever allow his home to be made into the new Arkham. Did he move out the bat cave because villains break out of Arkham all the time and you don't really need one of them coming on the bat cave. Besides that more freaking Bat books because there needs to be 10 or so Batman books a month.

Gotham Academy sounds somewhat like the Gotham High show. Just a little different and Batman being an adult.

This is really smart. Don't hate because DC is expanding the Batline past Male Power Fantasies. There are still 12 Bat books you are still the target demo for.

Boy... seriously... why do DC and Marvel always have to rip each other off in the most obvious ways...

Avengers Academy

Gotham Academy...

Seriously. People talk about how Thanos is a rip off of Darksied which is true but the ones today are just blatantly obvious. It's like both companies are saying, "Well, what can we rip off today?"

LOL

aRandomSinisterClone, it's called news aggregation, and every site on the net does it. Plus, I also conduct interviews, write reviews, post occasional exclusives and scoops too. But feel free to troll away if you've nothing better yo do by all means.

oh c'mon!! My wallet literally can't cover MORE bat-books. I drew the line @ Eternal and I'm about to give up on Batman & [fill-in character until they figure out how to retcon Damien's survival].

too much of ANYTHING is a bad thing

@superotherside

Avengers Academy trains superheroes.
Gotham Academy is where rich people send their kids to school.

I'm not seeing the rip-off, unless you're mad because they have similar names.

@Battabing Having two books from opposite sellers under the basically the same name is still a rip off. Nuff said. They could have called it Gotham Foundation, Institution, Collage etc.

But it seems to me that DC and Marvel just like to rip each other off. Like Dark Avengers and Justice League Dark.

I'm not talking just about this one time that they've done this. They continue to do it all the time. It's just getting silly now.

Besides why do we really need more Bat books?

Overrated and overexposed.

One dark story line for Gotham Academy. A Batman villain, truly deranged, abducts a female student from Gotham Academy, messes with her mind and rapes her.

Totally not interested. Smells like trash. Neither title will see 2016.

Speaking of trash. Coming soon "GOTHAM STREETS & SAN." Follow the exploits of Gotham's finest public servants as they struggle to keep the city spotless from the many forces that threaten to make the city, Detroit part 2.

Really, aRandomSinisterClone? How did he copy an article that many sites might cover? Smh. At least he made an article about these books coming out this fall. Think before you troll. Oh wait, never mind. Trolls don't usually think before writing things. Yeah, I said it.
