BIG HERO 6 Actress Jamie Chung Joins The Cast Of GOTHAM Season 3 As Vicki Valerie Vale

We expected DC Comics' Vicki Vale to make an appearance in season 3 of Gotham, but it turns out the Batman origin show has cast Jamie Chung as that character's Aunt, Valerie. More past the jump...

According to TV Line, Jamie Chung (Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, Once Upon A Time, Big Hero 6) has booked a series regular role on season 3 of Fox's Gotham as Valerie Vale. In an update to their original story, the site has confirmed that this will actually be Vicki Vale's Aunt.

Here's how the character is described:

"Gotham Gazette‘s newest hire, Valerie is a crackerjack reporter dead set on uncovering the truth behind Indian Hill. Confident and dogged, she will do anything to get the scoop, and soon sets her sights on Gordon, who she believes is the key lead in her story."

Well, at least purists will be happy that they didn't make one of Bruce Wayne's most well-known love interests from the comics 20 years his senior. Gotham‘s third season is set to debut on Monday, Sept. 19 at 8/7.

I like Jamie Chung. She's a good actor. And she would have made a better Psylocke than Expressionless McDeadpan.
This could have happened:

Kill this show! Worst than Arrow!

@ForDarkseid - the only thing "worst" than Arrow is your grammar.

Lord have mercy. Gotham doesn't have the best writers, the best stories, the best characters, or the best anything as far as comicbook media goes... except the most astoundingly beautiful actresses...

Baccarin, Lucas, Richards, and now Chung?

I actually was hoping she was going to be cast as Colleen Wing in Marvel's Iron Fist series, but oh well.

@HerculesJones - Yeah I know, I was just saying that I was hoping she was Colleen before Jessica Henwick was cast.

I'd still be watching this show if only they hadn't brought Fish Mooney back...
