As filming continues on Joker: Folie à Deux in New York, these latest photos from the set give us another look at star Joaquin Phoenix, who will reprise the role of Arthur Fleck, aka the Joker.
Fleck is looking a little the worse for wear in these shots, as he walks down the street wearing a suit that appears to be covered in ash. He still has the remnants of his face-paint, but it looks like most of it has been smeared away.
We don't have much context, but there's speculation that Arthur may have just escaped from Arkham prior to this sequence.
Other recent set snaps have focused on Lady Gaga's Harley Quinn, who was spotted in full costume last week. A separate video also showed Quinn planting a kiss on a woman in the crowd.
According to one source, the protestor told Harley she's "going to hell" as she was walking up the steps. Harls responded with the kiss, saying, "now you are, too."
The Joker sequel won't take place in the same world as the main DCU, and will be known as an "Elseworlds" project, along with Matt Reeves' The Batman movies, J.J. Abrams' Superman film, and Constantine 2 (if they happen).
Plot details are still mostly under wraps, but we do know that the majority of the film will take place in Arkham Asylum and feature musical numbers.
Joker: Folie à deux is set to hit theaters on October 4, 2024.
