People tend to get so caught up with the current Chris Nolan version of Batman and the fact that Anne Hathaway is taking over as Catwoman that some forget plenty of actors have previously portrayed the character on film. Before Michelle Pfeiffer donned the cowl, before Halle Berry put on the spiked heels, Julie Newmar had young men drooling all over themselves with her portrayal of the infamous Catwoman in the 1960's Batman series starring Adam West.

Speaking with HERO COMPLEX recently about Bluewater Productions upcoming comic "Secret Lives of Julie Newmar," Newmar also offered her opinion on the Batman and Catwoman as we see them on film today.

“This is what I get from people when they talk to me about the original Catwoman and compare it to the latter ones,” Newmar said. “I think people prefer the more humorous one, the lighter one. People seem to complain that the recent ones are too dark in spirit. But that’s what reflects what’s going on. That’s what film and acting and everything is. … I don’t envy someone that has to play Batman or Catwoman today. It was a heck of a lot more fun when Adam West and I did it.”

According to Newmar, "Secret Lives of Julie Newmar" should be availible this December.
