More From Katee Sackhoff On Wanting To Play HARLEY QUINN Or WONDER WOMAN
The Riddick actress talks about being told that she wasn't right for the role of Wonder Woman in the failed TV series, and again expresses her desire to play Harley Quinn on the big screen. Sackhoff also emphasises her interest in taking on a role in Star Wars Episode VII!
"Absolutely," Katee Sackhoff told Total Film when they asked her if she's still interested in starring in a comic book movie. "I would love to play any of these characters. I'd love to play Wonder Woman. I remember auditioning for the Wonder Woman television show and being told that I wasn't the Wonder Woman type, but if I wanted to play the best friend, I could audition for that. And remember thinking to myself, 'You obviously haven't seen my work!' [laughs]"
As we know from past interviews, The Joker's sidekick Harley Quinn is a character that certainly seems to be of interest to the Riddick actress, and with a new Batman franchise on the horizon, could she finally get her wish? "I would love to do that. I'm obsessed with Jinx. I would love to play Harley Quinn. I just think it's amazing. I mean I think I might give away my firstborn to have an opportunity to play Harley Quinn. I love trying to understand the villain, and trying to understand the things they do and why they do them, and I've always found her and The Joker, you almost can't understand them. And it makes it so much more interesting because everything's fair game, and I love that. I loved the usefulness of her, I thought that was interesting, and I just think that it's a fantastic character."
"Star Wars meant everything to me growing up," Sackhoff added when talk turned to her voiceover work in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series. As for whether that means she would like to take on a live-action role in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars Episode VII, she added: "Star Wars was, I mean, it was the first time I remember seeing three movies that all kind of went together. It was just an amazing final understanding of what a trilogy was. If J.J. would listen, I would play a rock in the Star Wars movies. I think that they're fantastic, I think that he's a great choice, and I'm excited to see what happens in that world."
