NIGHTWING: DEADPOOL 2 Actor Lewis Tan Confirms That He's Met With DC About Playing Dick Grayson

Lewis Tan (Deadpool 2, Iron Fist) recently teased a meeting with Warner Bros./DC about an upcoming project, and he's now confirmed that Nightwing - among other things - was indeed discussed. Check it out.

Early last month, Lewis Tan (Into the Badlands, Deadpool 2, Iron Fist) sent out a Tweet which strongly implied that he'd taken a meeting with Warner Bros. execs about an upcoming DC project.

At the time, speculation pointed to Chris McCay's planned Nightwing project, and during a new interview Tan confirmed that the lead role of Dick Grayson was indeed discussed - although it seems he wasn't the only character that was brought up.

Here's what Tan had to say to That Hashtag Show when they quizzed him about the Tweet, mentioning Nightwing specifically.

"I know Chris McKay wants a martial artist, right, so that's out there. He's following me on Twitter, you know...there's a lot of good juju vibes out there for that. Nothing that I can say that is confirmed. This is a project that he's still developing and I sat down with DC, with some of the executives at DC, and they're big fans, I'm a big fan, obviously. My father came to America, because of Batman (Tan's father worked on Tim Burton's 1989 film) and, you know, I definitely want to see that come full circle and give back.

Im not trading in my Marvel roots, because they started me, but DC started my dad, so it would be nice to go over there and play around and find the right thing. So we're looking for the right thing and there were a lot of different talks and Nightwing was one of those that were mentioned, so we'll see."

So, very early days, but it does sound like McKay and co. are considering Tan for the role. What are some of these other DC projects that were discussed, we wonder?

Be sure to share your theories with us in the comments, and let us know what you think about Tan potentially playing Nightwing.

Martial Arts background and modeling (have to admit that being handsome is a part of the Dick Grayson character) make him a good choice but I can't really get over the overacting done in Iron Fist season 1

He is a terrible actor IMO, like seriously I remember him bitching about Iron Fist and then when he shows up he just overacts the crap out of his drunken marital artist.

@JustAChillFan - Well, marriage is an art that sometimes requires acting. So.....

@JustAChillFan - the choreography was terrible overall. Iron fist's action scenes only had a lot of kung fu poses but it used too many flips and spin kicks. compared to kung fu films all the action scenes looked incorrect because Danny Rand uses chinese kung fu not daredevil ninjustsu spin kicks.

lewis tan looked more agile and capable in following the action than finn jones. problem with a fight scene is both look horrible if they are not up to par. lewis tan was good and finn jones was horrible so both looked bad. but i do agree that his acting is terrible.

I don't know much about this guy. His scenes in deadpool made me laugh. I'm just glad that this movie is still inching forward.

Damn, the hate is strong with this guy.

Look - I won’t defend his acting in Iron Fist. It was bad. But literally everyone was shit in that show. Scott Buck can make Marlon Brando look like a day player.

I doubt he’ll be cast as Dick but ..we’re talking Iron Fist here.

@BlackBeltJones

Prolly the best out of the ensemble. Not a high bar though! I’m sure they’ll do a lot better under a new showrunner.
